I commend Bobby Marks here. Gets the math right and understands our draft pick situation.

Russell and Heat get a 1st to use in a separate trade? That's wild and Heat should take that and run.

With January about to be in the back mirror, and Miami locking in defensively with Dipo coming into form +health (#1 defense rating for the month), I think it's clear Miami would be better off adding players that can add an offensive wrinkle. Bojan, Russell, Naz, PJ, Beasley, KO, Morris, Kennard.

Ideally, I'd like to see Bojan + Russell but there are other really good combos like Kennard + Morris. in the PO the backup C will only getting 10 mins so I don't see that as a priority worth giving up draft capital (Bamba). I think Noel might be able to be had for a couple 2nds and filler. There's your backup center for the rest of Jimmy build but I think we only go for a deal like that if we've made the other "all in" deals.

Look at Jimmys stats + advanced stats for last year's PO. He was arguably the best player and almost single handedly dragged us to the Finals while everyone else **** the bed.

Bam looks ready to take a step forward... if there was ever a time it's now. obvious that Jimmy is saving himself for the PO because he likely has 1-2 runs like that left if he plays it smart. When you combine that with the salary bind theyre in, it is highly likely they are looking to go all in as long is makes sense for the next 5 years. This is why players like PJ, Naz, Russell, FVV are intriguing...add any of those guys to a core of Bam, Herro, Jovic, Jimmy, Dipo, even aging Jimmy for the next 5 years, and those draft picks won't matter.

Anybody looked at Van Vleet’s numbers? Why would we want this guy?

His contract and play is significantly better than Lowry.

The issue is, Raptors are going to want a lot more than Lowry though. Not sure if the upgrade is worth the assets, especially when we have a ginormous hole at PF. Assets should be used there.

There’s many trades I would do, however it’s tough when your starting point is an owner not willing to pay luxury tax and the team being already capped out on like 5 players. Only realistic thing I could see happening is something like Caleb+Dedmon package for matching salary or the Lowry for D lo swap

I dont mind being top heavy on contracts generally. However when Lowry and Duncan non produce to the tune of $50 million a year its a major problem.

Many of us on here saw those two as being a problem from the get go. I think theres a consistent theme with management to try and outsmart the competition by making dumb signings/trades that even the average ignorant realgmer could forecast as a problem.

Need to be smarter.

Agreed. For a franchise that's strongly considered a blue chip one in the league, the moves made in recent times have been very uncharacteristic in that regard. The only good moves made in the last decade could be counted on a hand. The problem has been compounding one blunder after another before making a good move again

I’m fine with trading Lowry for buddy Hield lol. We don’t necessarily need a PG, Gabe and Dipo can hold it down.

Trade Lowry Duncan and a 2 1sts for Buddy turner and McConnell for insurance

This is the Miami Heat. They love bricklayers who play D.

Miami was apparently interested a few years ago, so it would make sense Miami would have a gander.

I'd be surprised if Miami traded Lowry mid-season. They might look to move him this offseason, though.

FVV isn't Lillard. But he's much better than Rozier. Much better assist to turnover ratio. Much better defender (than Lowry, Lillard, Rozier - he's actually a plus defender). Much more consistent over the seasons whereas Rozier had a very good 2021-2022 season and was very much a very average player all the other seasons.
FVV deserves a 4/100M type contract. Rozier does not. I used stats, https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/nba-player-ratings/ and PER.

Lillard is worth both our FRPs and Jovic and Lowry.
FVV is worth Lowry and a FRP and maybe like Caleb Martin swap for some worse expiring.
Rozier is worth Ducan Robinson and Caleb Martin or a 2nd round pick.

FVV is definitely moving the needle for us. But that's me.
