Saturday March 18, 2023, 8 PM EST: Miami Heat @ Chicago Bulls, United Center

So, we have a 2-day break and then we're on the road again.

Image

This is an away game in a city where we have fought tough battles in the past. It's a very meaningful game, and not just because of our pursuit of better playoff seeding. It has historical impact.

The Heat and Chicago have played 124 games. It's 62 to 62. Miami lost the first 16 games of the rivalry. This season Miami have lost the last two games (both in Miami). Miami won in Chicago in 1993-1994 season, but MJ didn't play in those games. On December 07, 1996, however, Miami beat the Bulls in Chicago with Jordan playing, 83-80. Mourning-Hardaway-Askins-Majerle-Brown were the starters. It was one helluva game.

Miami are overall 26-35 in Chicago, but Miami have won their last 6 games with Chicago hosting. In our last loss, Dragic fouled out after going 0-6 from beyond the arc. He had 9 assists.

Image

Our playoff record is 13-18. We lost the first 9 games against them. We lost the first 3 series, but we've won 3 of the last 4. The 2007 series sweep is one of our low points, imho. Very disappointment.

We are 14-20 on the road. 7 games to play. That's about middle of the road for NBA teams. 13th. We're not good, but it could be worse. Chicago is 18-16 at home. That's not great either. They've also lost their last 3 at home.

I hate the fact that this last game made me believe in the team again and we'll probably lose in Chicago.

That being said we still have a chance at that 5th seed. Winning the 2 games against the Knicks can get us there. I want a 2nd round against the Bucks even if we most likely lose. I really want to see that again.

Awesome break down, as always. I think most important here is a win for PO placings over reg season tie breaker. Currently they have us on PO series wins - this is what's matters most. If we ever face them again we need to win that series.

Look for that 6-0 streak in Chicago to be in play here. We're also 8-2 in the last 10 in Chicago & 12--3 going back to 2013-2014 season.

Furthermore this is a revenge spot. Add Jimmy's former team as a factor & I'm putting my money w/ the Heat this game.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Yeah, I think the revenge factor is a big deal. Also Dragic was 4 for 5 from beyond the arc in the first game of the season and 2 for 3 in the December game.

Last night, they didn't have Caruso, one of their best defenders, and Beverly hit a lot of 3s. I always like games with Patrick Beverly because he annoys his own teammates too.

As bad as Lowry has been, at least we didn’t sign Lonzo Ball. Booked in for a third knee surgery and likely misses all next season, after missing all this season. He played 35 games in 2021/22.

Woy.

We're only 1.5 games out from the 6th seed now. That's probably the best we can hope for.

Yeah Lonzo has hit tough times. They can't fix him, the rehab will take time too. Who knows, maybe he will play for Miami at a lower deal like Dipo to rehab one day...

We’ve remember how to shoot (except for love) but forgot how to defend so it’s cancelled out. This team just can’t put it together
