It's already stressful when your team gets this far but when the media talks and pushes pressure on your team, it will only add to your stress. I learned this from the big 3 era. Even today, I can sometimes want to know what people are saying but this game was also my slap in the face to get back to getting away from the media. It makes this experience way more stressful than it needs to be as it's just entertainment even though I love my teams.
I also started watching Heat playoff games on mute during the Big 3 era. Just couldn't do it any more with the anti-Heat commentating, and now it's become a superstition for me.
I think fans get too caught up in perceptions and get too worried about what other people are going to say. I think that's one of the downsides of being too caught up in the sports culture of Twitter, forums, national media, etc. If the Heat lose, it sucks but you move on. But when you are too caught up in all the talk then it feels worse than it is because we all talk about the loss for hours instead of moving on and then it ruins our night. I have to work on getting away from it more.
