All-Time HEAT Starting Five
As recourse from not having the Dame trade get done yet, let's do something to take our minds off it.
Name your all time HEAT starting five with one backup...
C: Zo/Shaq
PF: Bosh/Odom
SF: LeBron/Glen Rice
SG: D. Wade/Dan Majerle
PG: Tim Hardaway/??? (Help me out with this one)

PG - Tim Hardaway / Goran Dragic
SG - Dwyane Wade / Eddie Jones
SF - LeBron James / Jimmy Butler
PF - Chris Bosh / PJ Brown
C - Alonzo Mourning / Shaquille O'Neal
I view as the player they were while they were here, not the player at their absolute prime. Shaq otherwise would be over Zo in that instance.
You could also shuffle DWade to the 1 and put Jimmy at the 2, or shift CB to the bench, Bron to the 4 and Jimmy at the 3.
There's a lot of guys who could make that backup 4 position:
- PJ Brown
- Brian Grant
- Anthony Mason
- Lamar Odom
- Udonis Haslem
SG - Dwyane Wade / Eddie Jones
SF - LeBron James / Jimmy Butler
PF - Chris Bosh / PJ Brown
C - Alonzo Mourning / Shaquille O'Neal

Looking at my goat team, they have weaknesses in the starting lineup with three point shooters. All streaky guys.
Spo could beat em if the boys get hot with this team:
Bosh
Miller
Duncan
Allen
Chalmers
Coach: Spo
But they gotta spam em and hard.

Wade, Zo, Hardaway ... there's little to no debate to be had with those three. The tricky part is how to view the lineup. Is it peak performers? Does longevity count? Are we trying to put a lineup together that might actually function, or just picking the 5 best players, or 2 best bigs + 3 best perimeter players?
And no, I'm not putting Lebron on my team.

I'm not sad that he left. I just don't want him on my team.
Zo
Bam
Butler
Wade
Hardaway
Is where I am currently.
Other notables: Bosh, Dragic, Rice, UD, Eddie Jones, and Seikaly
I chose to impose a minimum of 5 years with the franchise to keep out Lebron and Tyler Herro.

Jimmy is only at 4 seasons, but he's starting this next season here so he makes the team.

Hmm i see no Shaq either, may as well not sign Lillard because he would probably do the same thing as Shaq and LeBron

By the way, i think not recognizing Shaq and Lebron is pa-thetic and emotional. These fangirls are canceling players now? LOL

No problem its called an argument.
I see no problem giving MVP lebron and MVP shaq their dues. Especially since they were instrumental in the heats only championships
They were hired guns, just like Lillard will be, and these assassins deserve to be remembered as well, even if they were not soldiers that came up in the heat culture.

Hardaway/Dragic/Gary Payton
Wade/Ray Allen/Steve Smith
Lebron/Posey/Thunder Dan
Odom/Bosh/PJ
Shaq/Zo
Any combination of these players is deadly but those are my top starters first.

Yeah Anthony Mason is one of my all time favorites. He did a lot for us when Zo got ill with the kidney ailment

When I was putting my list together, you know what came to mind? Tim Hardaway is the best PG we have had in the last 25-30 years. He was the reason I became a Heat fan as a kid. Before the days of internet, social media, and apps, you had to get stats and news from the previous night's games from something called a newspaper. Tim used to light up the box score.

Tim was a perfect 90s point guard once he had to slow due to injury. He controlled the game with the three spam, low turnovers, high assists.
He was in the he same tier as Gary Payton.
He and Zo went far.
