Thanks for everything Caleb. We won't forget what he did in the 2023 Playoffs.

So long Caleb, and hope Philly fans love your toe on the line "3s" as much as we did

A great story and Heat development success. Congratulations on the new contract and best of luck in Philly.

Was a good run. Best of luck to him. Maybe would have been better for both him and the Heat if he would have gotten traded midseason.

one of my favorite player over the last few years...I love the 110% type of players....
I think he did a remarkable job considering what was asked of him ...size wise.....
I am thankful the Heat did not throw truck loads of cash at him like they have other players in the past....so if that means we have to part ways...so be it.

Honestly - never really liked his game, he overachieved for a guy we picked off the street sure, but quickly became overrated IMO. Very inconsistent, injury prone, ugly ass shot. Still, he helped more then you can expect from a guy coming out of nowhere.
I'm thankful for 2 things :
1) That 1 very good serires against the Celtics.
2) For not accepting that crazy offer we gave him - 65Mil for 5 years. Thanks for saving us from ourselves.
BTW - the fact he took so much less from the Sixers and declined our bigger offer - no tears shed over him lets just say.

His agent misread the market. Everyone wants 3 & D guys, but his 3 is meh and he doesn't have the big reputation that top defenders have. I got a laugh when they said that he was going to be the Sixers PF ... because of course he is.

Damn.... he turned down $13 million for 5 years to take $8 million for 4 years? Wow.... he'll be 29 next season so this is probably the biggest contract he was going to get. I wonder if anyone other than the 76ers made him an offer?
Although it's hard to feel sorry for someone getting $32 million to play basketball.

If you cared to describe him to someone who's barely seen him play.. so far sounds like scrappy defender, streaky shooter, the toe on the line thing would / will be annoying. I don't personally look at any advanced stats so that's above my head. Box stats are pedestrian. Did a head tilt when Woj said he penciled in at pf. Anyway, legitimately interested in anything, not here to stir

He's a good quality role player. Not an absolute knock down shooter, but capable. Has developed a weird hitch in his shot that reduced his effectiveness a little. He's a good off ball cutter and plays with energy and enthusiasm. Defends well. Not great at creating his own looks, but can make some unorthodox plays at the rim and is an above average NBA athlete.
At 6'5 and 210lbs, he's not a PF but can masquerade as one for stretches. Probably works easier in Philly because of the sheer size of Embiid versus someone like Bam. Caleb should be able to operate to a similar level of a Tobias Harris in Philly's system, albeit he isn't as big as Harris and not as good. He's decent injury insurance if PG went down for an extended stretch though.

Thanks for the insight. Hopefully he translates, your team does have an undeniable way of propping guys up

When he was focused (in the 2023 playoffs), he did a great job for us. Clutch work. Going to miss him.
Last season was less than inspired though. Probably a change will be good for him (and us.)

Dude was the best 3pt shooter with a toe on the line in the league...so I guess I should say best extremely long 2pt shooter. played PF despite being the size of a guard. And was one of our rosters very few above average athletes. Will be missed.
