We need to lock down George and Embiid in order to get this dub.

This was too funny. They won on a buzzer beater against the Pacers and now this.

Sick! It gets even worse for the Lakers when you see they were up 5 with 12 seconds left and Lebron with a horrible inbounds TO.

The Heat are doing the absolute worst thing an NBA team can do, getting stuck in no man’s land.
Instead of leaning into the tank during a loaded draft year and rest Bam/Tyler a bit, they’re out here clawing for a 10 seed just to maybe get bounced in the first round. It’s like they’d rather die by playin than admit it’s time to hit reset. Jimmy’s gone, they don't have a clutch guy, and instead of embracing the rebuild, they’re clinging to “Heat Culture” like it’s gonna magically drag this mid roster to relevance. Spoiler: It’s not.

And just to pour salt in the wound, the end of their schedule is basically a rehab clinic for false hope; Five of their last nine games are against bottom tier teams actively trying to lose. So they’ll probably string together a few wins, finish like 38–44, and convince themselves they were “just a piece away.” No, you weren’t. You beat the Hornets and the Wizards. Congrats, you played yourself out of the lottery.

This is how teams get stuck for years, not because they’re terrible, but because they’re too proud to be bad when it actually matters. It’s not gritty, it’s not competitive; it’s just stupid and infuriating.

I'm also on the "tank" train, but I'm seeing things from Riles and Andy's perspective. I get what they’re aiming for.

They want the team to make the playoffs this year to send the pick to OKC and secure full control of the 2026 first-round draft pick. I think their goal is to give this core (Bam, Wiggs, and Herro) a full season to play without all the external distractions.

Best route moving forward:

-Get 2025 pick via GSW

-2026 pick (owned and OKC pick settled)

-2027 settle Charlotte pick

-2028 onwards we have all of our picks.

Not to mention then making the playoffs worsens our trade assets this summer by 1 1st (high lottery) and takes the pressure off the front office having to build a legitimate roster

Yeah I'd rather shop Herro/Wiggins for draft capital that we can use to trade for a legit star.

I get the logic of trying to “clear the books” and regain full control of all your future picks but waiting until 2027 or 2028 to finally make a move is insane. That’s basically punting on three full seasons just so you can say “we finally own all our picks again.” Cool. Now what? You’re still stuck with a mid core, and no path to a top tier guy unless one just magically falls into your lap.

This 2025 draft is their chance. The class is loaded with potential difference makers. Why wouldn’t you go for it now? Jimmy’s gone and expectations are low! That’s the perfect time to reset nobody would fault them, there's no point in trying hard right now.

Instead, we’re running back this same fake-playoff energy, clinging to hope and Heat Culture while the window to get better talent on a rookie contract slowly closes. If they’re not trying to hit a home run now, then how exactly are they planning to get a star in 2026 or 2027? Just vibes?

If that’s Riles and Andy’s perspective, they should be next out the door. A Bam/Wiggins/Herro core is obviously going nowhere and it doesn’t take a full season to realize that.
