Should Wade start jacking up three's?
I mean the season from know on is going to be nothing but a scrimmage for the Heat. If I be Pat, I will tell Wade he has the right to shoot any shot he wants, the point am trying to say, Wade could use this as a opportunity to play somewhat different, try different things like shoot three pointers more often, work on fadeaways, work on his back to the basket. Wade game depends alot on his ridiculous athletic ability he could hone in some new moves in the remaining of this season and the offseason too.
Sometimes I think Wade doesn't try some of this plays more consistently because he doesn't trust his all around game at times. Also because he believes those are not his strong points. At least something positive that could come out this season, Wade gets better, and uses this season to work on new things.

Practice and game situations are different.Heat3 wrote:No. That is what practice is for. Even if we suck the point is to win the game.
The point is to win a title, first you have to make the Playoffs.
So the point of Wade getting better, is for our future development of his talent and the chances of the Heat getting back on top quicker rather than slower . This season is nothing but a preseason to me from know on.

This season is a waste of a year. I'm just waiting for the season to end and look forward to the draft. The Heat getting to the postseason would just delay the much needed improvements the Heat need to make, and just lead to another identical season with the team relying on NBDL players. Sadly, that NBDL part isn't even meant to describe how horrible the supporting cast is. They literally are NBDL players with players like Anthony, Quinn, Jackson, and Barron.

Wade will never be a three point bomber. For his role on the team I don't think its helps either, because he's the best playmaker (scoring/passing) and doesn't help with him camping out and jacking threes.'
I hope he never plays that way like the Gen X post Jordan swingmen/guards do a la Vince Carter, Tracy Mcgrady, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson
Carmelo, Lebron and Wade have managed to turn that style of play around although Lebron has shot more threes.
I just never liked guys who play like that, but the general NBA fan loves it for some reason. However I don agree that Wade should work on his back to basket game a little more, and try shooting going to his right more, as he didn't get to work on his game in the offseason.

Watching old Jordan tapes, he seem like real treat from three pointer, Wade is not. Am not saying become a Vince Carter clone or T Mac, am thinking more in the likes of Jordan, great shooter, but learns to be selective with it. Jordan seem to be able to hit you from so many different ways, Wade could use this season as a way to work on new things. Might as well get something done while we lose, right?Chessboxer wrote:Wade will never be a three point bomber. Yeah i agree with you there, being selective with it. I just saw the thread title "jacking up threes" to mean just exactly that.
I heard a saying one time, "They give you three points for a reaon, its not a good shot", or something along those lines.

Nah, I hope he develops it later in his career but he's fine for now. I don't want him developing the 3pt chucking mentality like guys like T-Mac/Kobe and even LeBron these days. (who takes 4 per game and only makes 1)
Just for comparisons sake:
Michael Jordan 3pt%'s:
1st year in league: 17%
2nd year: 17%
3rd year: 18%
4th year: 13%
5th year: 28%

Later he had some real good season's with it.
I think it can do nothing but help Wade's game.
First he will take less punishment, less chance of injury. Shaq could use him as a guy that bails him out of double teams.
Just not his three, but some things Wade relies to much on athetic prowess and quickness, when he gets older, he will lose some of it, and will need to adapt, he might as well start sooner than later. It will add a whole new dimension to his game. This process could take a couple years for him to become money long bomb shooter, but we might as well start know.

Exactly what I was trying to say, but you did it better.dflash3 wrote:I don't want Wade to start chucking up threes, but I want him to get to the point where if the defender leaves him open behind the arc he'll drain it. That will open up his driving game even more, since defenders will have to respect his range even though he might not take threes at a high rate.

I'm not with you. Back when I was in 4th grade, this Asian kid named Jiabo, would shoot it grandma style from behind the arc. Wade needs to go with that. He needs to improve his free frows and his free point shot.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Why on God's green Earth are we trying to point out Wade's flaws? He's the only thing working for us right now.
P.S. i think Wade's post up skills are excellent, i've often seen him post up a smaller defender and pop up that little floater hook. Also, most of his jumpshots are sunk after he spins himself free of the defender, with somewhat of a fadeaway.
