Miami/Atlanta Do-Over

Post#1 » by Flash3 » Fri Jan 11, 2008 10:04 pm

Per Wiretap

RealGM Staff Report -
The NBA today granted a game protest filed by the Miami Heat after its 117-111 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on December 19 at Philips Arena, which will result in the replay of the final 51.9 seconds of the game

Crazy stuff. Seriously, that's the first time I've ever heard of anything like that before. Can you imagine if we manage to win two games in one night?

At this point, I'd be happy with two games in one week...

Can we even win 2 games this month alone?

So we're not 20 games under .500 no more. Yey ya.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Wait, this is really weird.

Does this mean that the game is completly voided from your W-L column? And then that the next time you play you are going to completly recreate the scenario? Same score, same stats, with the same amount of time left on the clock? The people not in the know, are going to show up thinking they are really late. And then feel like they are in the twilight zone when the game restarts.

Wow, now hopefully Shaq is back by then to actually play those seconds.

We can't risk winning games. We should protest the protest.

Is it possible for us to ban ourselves (Miami Heat) from the wiretap?

Every time there's a thread created with the Miami Heat being the subject, it turns into 10+ pages of jealous fans of teams with 0 championship banners hanging in their arenas bitching..

Does the 51.9 sec. game deserve its own game thread?

Hahahhahaha, this is going to be so weird to watch right before our next game starts.

lol @ this part too: "In the meantime, the standings of each team will be reversed (one less win for the Hawks, one less loss for the Heat), and all statistics from the game will be removed until the game is officially completed."

Lets see if we can go for a double loss. The lottery is all that matters this season

Lol, don't get carried away...you have ONE.

Speaking of ONE, I can only think of ONE team that would have jealous fans, and thats because out of alllll the teams in the league, Miami is ahead of only ONE of those.

So anyways, its a message board. Discussion happens (even about your team sometimes)

Congratulations on the dumbest post in the history of RealGM.

Your entire point is irrelevant as I wasn't even referring to the 2007-2008 season.

Thanks!!!!

...and ???

Maybe I'm real lost, but you talk smack about other teams, but you only want it to refer to your team when they are winning?
(Don't worry though, I know how it feels to want to bask in a different time, I was a Pistons fan during 'The Teal Era' and during that time I could only think of 89-90)

Yeah, you are lost. Very lost. Let's keep it and leave it at that.

Your assumptions are so off that I don't even care to go into detail.
