Is Wade really considering shutting down?

I saw the Heat play a few times last week, and Wade looked pretty good. Maybe not 2006 playoffs good, but good. I keep hearing he's in serious pain and should probably take a month or two off. Some other posters mentioned that he's playing hard now b/c he's so competitive, but that he'll shut it down after another 3-4 weeks if the Heat keep losing.
But like I mentioned, he looked pretty good last week, and he wouldn't shut down just because the Heat want a higher draft pick, right? Could Riley make him? If you guys have any opinions/prognostications, or if you know something from watching him all the time, I'd love to hear it. (Sorry if you guys are tired of talking about this!)

Wade hasn't said anything publicly to indicate he's considering taking the rest of the season off. But if he and Riley are considering it, and if a few weeks from now they let it be known that he's still not recovering as had been hoped, true or false, and suggest him taking the rest of the season off, I wouldn't be surprised and I wouldn't hold anything against him.

Don't think so.
He's reportedly going to be playing tonight.

My guess would be he shuts it down some time after All-Star break. It's semi-legit, he's not 100% and theres no point wearing himself down in a lost cause, and he is going balls to the wall trying to win games (at least on offense) so it's better to let him take that time off. Also doesn't hurt that we are aiming for a draft pick.

Probably after All Star break the Heat will come up with some excuse. But the fact the Heat has nationally televised games, might stop them from doing it . Because if you are a team that the media is not all over your nuts, its easier, who knows.
I would like Wade to shut the games down, but would like for him to keep working on his game, because then I would rather him keep playing, because is very important for Wade next year to come back better than ever, and shutting him down, but with no work, might actually be worst for Wade's game.

He's got a lot of sponsor committments for some big, big bucks and I am sure that they would not be pleased if he completly shut it down when he definitely did not have to.

Well, in that case then the med staff should come wih something to say that Wade is out for the year....he also might play in the olympics too

Unless he gets hurt for real, I don't see him shutting it down. Too much riding on sponsors and season ticket holders.

I think it would be in his best interest to shut it down, get healthy and work his way into shape by coming off the bench during the Olympics.

If we get Marion and Banks, Wade isn't shutting it down. He will play and get used to playing alongside Marion for the future.
