Looking at the cap situation I don't see how we would have cap space in the future short of not resigning Marion unless we sit out 2 full summers. Even then do we really let Marion go there's no guarantee there would be anyone better available. Our best bet is drafting well this year and getting an impact player with the MLE. Maybe getting something out of future expiring contracts when the time comes through trades.

this is a 9 minute video, 1st part is more personal with Matrix, the rest is just sick highlights.

I dont know how anyone could watch these and not be extremely intrigued by the thought of Wade/Marion.
people forget that before this season Matrix was known throughout the league as just about the best SF in the game not named Lebron James.
and now he is paired with Wade in a more free flowing offense, in the East - LOOK OUT.

I was surprise Shaq was dealt but more than surprise with the package Miami got for him. Riley is the man!
What was Kerr thinking? Prior to this trade he move Kurt Thomas, cash and two 1st rnd pick to Seattle. I understand moving Thomas because of the tax but why for that package. Now he traded a young Marion for an old Shaq that gives them extra $20m in '09-'10 season. Moving Thomas because of the tax and adding Shaq $20m!!!???
If Marion opts out and decides to leave, Miami will still ends up a winner.
IMO, Heat will only have a cap space in 2010 because I believe they will resign Marion.

this trade made no sense to me at first, but now im a believer in it for the suns
i also think that the suns are one of the only teams for whom shaq at this stage of his career, might just actually work
crazy - i think it will, and its just win win because i doubt any other team would have taken him from you either and obviously you want to get rid of him
marion is such a freakin gun, he will be sorely missed, but i truly hope he gets his chance to be the man, now, his constant whinging and complaining about being underappreciated has sent him where he is,
i hope he now makes the most of it and goes out and destroys teams from now on
best of luck guys

has wade had any comments since the trade?
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

"Asked after the game about the trade, Wade said, "I didn't expect a rebuilding process. It happened. Unfortunately, we lose Shaquille O'Neal in this deal. I don't think anyone loses in this deal.
Wade said he spoke to O'Neal earlier in the day.
"It wasn't expected," Wade said of the deal. "It wasn't even talked about, really, but yeah, it did surprise me."
Of playing alongside Marion, Wade said, "I'm looking forward to it at both ends of the floor."

Shaquille O'Neal delivered a title to the Miami Heat , and he hopes to do the same for the Phoenix Suns .
O'Neal spoke with Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire on Tuesday.
"I will not let you down," O'Neal told Nash on the phone.

Could we offer Ricky and JWill for Brand and even though he's out for the season maybe convince the Matrix to stay and try to go with BRand, UD, Matrix, Wade, Banks?

I will be rooting for Phoenix to win it all. I am happy for Shaq to have the opportunity to add to his legacy. As a person he deserves it.
Moving on, I am excited to have Marion here. The one thing I know is that he doesn't need the ball at all (which is a great attribute for someone playing next to Wade) and at the same time he is always cutting, moving and looking to get open to get the ball and score. If the ball is in the air, he is on his way to the basket anyways. If the ball is on someone else's hands then he is looking to cut and get open for a dunk, shot or putback. All of that and still gets you 20ppg, 10rpg and good defense. A dream of a player next to Wade if you ask me.
IMO, if we can add better power players beyond Haslem who can defend and attack down low, we got ourselves a pretty good team.
As for Marcus Banks, he is a good defender and quick. Good qualities in a backup PG. In a perfect world, he becomes Wade's perfect backcourt mate and becomes a more consistent shooter and playmaker. Let's hope he develops into something more than a backup.
GO HEAT!
