What to do with Marcus banks? The guy is young (26 years old) and plays Defense. How is his jump shot? Do We move Willaims now or Leave banks to backup PG. Also Chris Quinn? Resign Quinn? I remmber him being quick but nothign else. PS. Why could we not include Smush Parker!

Marcus Banks will be kept around to be the backup PG IMO....
He will be able to play solid minutes in Miami because our coaches always love a guard that can defend quick PGs and the smaller SGs also, especially in the 4th quarter. He has improved his shot alot over the years but still remains a better uptempo player then half court. with Matrix/Wade/Haslem this team would be best served to move to a more free flowing open court game anyway.
He comes at lower then the league average in salary and his contract expires 2010. We have been interested in him in the past, I see him being a rotation player for us until 2010.

Agreed. It's also noteworthy to point out that Banks is shooting 38% from downtown.

Not to mention that ANY contribution from him is better than what our FA splash player Smush Parker contributed this season.

I think in one game this year he made 6 of 7 3 Pointers. So he could be a great pickup in the end.

With the addition of Marion and Marcus Banks, I think you guys are gonna have some bonifide giddy-up in your offence now....they ought to be fun to watch!
If Banks gets minutes alongside Wade, he might emerge as your #1 point...dont forget, he's played with Ricky Davis and Blount before and knows them pretty well....
Good luck... IMO you guys got the best of that deal..

I like Banks and he can't be any worse than JWill.

I always think Banks will be a good fit alongside guys like Wade or LeBron where he doesn't need to run the offense or handle the ball. He didn't work out here in Phoenix because playing Nash and Banks in the backcourt make us very small.
Banks is a good on the ball defender, he isn't a shooter, he's always a breakdown scorer, go to the rim and draw fouls. However, he doesn't seem to have good work ethics (as said that he is always the last in first out for practice)...I don't think he has bad attitude as the local media making him out to be tho.

Banks will have to be a Backup PG. He's a systematic PG who sometimes has problems in a free flowing offense. He struggled alot in PHX and it would actually be best if he played in a half court offense

I think Riley will like Banks.

Yea, I think the Heat should give Banks a shot at some serious minutes at PG. I think he could find his niche in Miami alongside DWade, something he hasn't been able to do thus far in his career. Face it, he was in a horrible situation in Boston followed by backing up a 2 time MVP, he hasn't really been given a proper shot.

What to do with Banks?
If Miami thinks that they will draft a PG in the coming draft (Rose, Mayo etc.) or wants additional cap space in 2009, then the should move Banks.
J-Will & Banks for Dre Miller. Check out my trade proposal from the
trade thread

I don't think new players like Banks can be immediately traded with another player, only by himself

I think Banks will surprise you guys. He is a streaky shooter, but he has improved his shot drastically while in PHX.
Again, he got spotty, scrub minutes in PHX and he could use some legit PT in order to determine if he would work in your system. It couldn't hurt to try and start him a couple of games could it?
I think a Wade/Banks backcourt is more complimentary than a Wade/Williams backcourt. Banks is a much better defender as well.
