Let's Get Van Hairy

Now that the big diesel isn't here to disrespect SVG, if the reported Orlando feud between Dwight and SVG ends in SVG being kicked to the curb after a year (stranger things have happened in this league), I'd be ALL for bringing SVG back. He is arguably a better coach for the team as currently constructed and, while Spoelstra may be great, having him focus on head duties means he cannot improve shooting technique, which he does as well as anyone (not that Marion will listen).

I know, I know, everyone will say he won't because Riley kicked him out, but what really happened was his family was in jeopardy of breaking up while Shaq was dismissing him under his breath, trying to engineer Riley back to the bench, which happened and worked well. However, we have now seen Shaq do the same to Riley, so it should be very clear that Riley didn;t kick SVG out. I know JVG thinks he did, but it is moreso in that he didn;t stand up more for SVG to Shaq, all the while SVG kept asking out.

Anyway, I know that SVG, if out in Orlando (still a big if) would likely look at this gug before anythign else becasue his family is settled in FL and his folks are still here.

I would  to SVG & Riley if this were to happen (and its unlikely ORL would do it)

But then we'd have to give them their 2nd round pick back :o

How is Pfund supposed to make any deals for us without a plethora of 2nd round picks?! I mean, he could pull off something like ...

- J. Williams
- D. Cook
- Rory Sparrow re-signed to $7 million
- The rights to Robert Duenas
- Twelve 2nd round picks

for

- P. Gasol

I want Jose Calderon. Let's deal all those 2nd rounders and a Luke Jackson Limited autographed ball of the only shot he made while with the Heat and a Penny Hardaway vintage #7 Jersey to the Raptors.

Oops, I forgot ... the Lakers already did my proposed deal. :(

But still, Van Gundy is fat and 2nd round picks are valuable trade commodities according to Pfund, so I don't see this happening!

Stan knows what he's doing, so Dwight needs to take a seat and sit down.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Maybe we can give a #2 pick for every 200 lbs of Stan, in case he's gotten laaaaaaaaaarger.

Stan is doing the right thing. If there are rebounds to be had and defesive inconsistency, then that was the right move to put a message on Dwight.

Dwight can become the ultimate player if he can keep developing and use every part of his game on a nightly basis.

I bet SVG talked to Riley about doing the same to Shaq and didn't go too well.

I would be for it... I agree his problem was most likely with Shaq and the deal would keep Wade happy. But I doubt Orlando lets him go.

The on-court controversy is a first in Howard's three-plus seasons in Orlando. Howard said he and Van Gundy are "fine."

"There are no problems with me and Stan Van Gundy," Howard said. "It's just like when families have problems. We're going to have fights and disappointments."

Howard, 22, said he has to play harder and provide what Van Gundy wants for the team. He grabbed just nine rebounds, losing the NBA rebounding lead to Denver's Marcus Camby, whom he faces Wednesday night.

"I got frustrated a little bit," he said. "I got to do what's right for my team. They need me to be focused on what I can do. . . . If I don't do those things we're going to be a mediocre team."

^ I have heard from some inside that it had gotten to ultimatum stage before the season began, and that he promised if they won the championship, he would quit. Shaq just expedited those plans. SVG told this to Riley and Mickey. Mickey, who preaches family first, told Stan he should leave if he feels it is best, but Riley wasn't ready to step back in and convinced Stan to take it one month at a time. He basically gave it a month.

Like Ron Jeremy, SVG's got so much in fat reserves, he says Viagra's for pussies.

All kidding aside, I think the time he spent with the kids smoothed things over and now that he's out from Riley's shadow in an organization he hasn't worked for 10 years in and one whose owner Devoss is an Amway triangle scam family guy and with Pat Williams (he still there?) who had like 150 kids, he is better able to prioritze and make time for his kids. He used to be such a gym rat/ video viewer that he only got to spend time with the kids in the summer at marlins games. i think he just learned to refocus. Plus, his wife's family lives up there, so that takes a lot of pressure off. I know that from personal experience.
