On wiretrap apparently for Diop, Stachouse, Harris George and 2 Firsts

How does it affect us ?

Doesn't affect us at all, as we were not part of that trade, and he's going to the West.

Bad trade, very bad trade for Dallas. Like I said, Dampier can't defend the 4 or 5 without getting in foul trouble. Duncan is loving this trade.

Kidd-Terry-Howard-Dirk Erika is a nice core, they lose some athletism though

I think it was a great trade for NJ. They get a Young PG to replace Kidd and get 2 first round picks. I for one love kidd but he is no young chicken. The nets needed to move him now before it was to late. Devin harris is a very good pg and should make them happy for years to come. Also 2 first round picks is nice.

I like that trade for the Nets. they get a young PG, cap flexibility and a pair of first round picks. Kidd is on the backside of a great career.

Same here, Nets screwed Dallas. 2 firsts are great, certainly since one of them will be in or after 2010 and Dallas might be in decline. Expirings, so immidiate cap relief and a they get their future PG, with sound fundamentals. If they want they can sign Diop as their future Center or Back-up center. Moreover they get a prospect in Ager. Seems like a very sweet deal for them.

For Dallas it might pay off, but given the Competition in the West it is one hell of a gamble. They become really thin at Center and if they don't get Stackhouse back as mentioned, their bench scoring is screwed as well. I would've at least tried to keep Diop and give NJ Howard and change.

Devin "the lil flop" Harris. That guy is one of the most annyoing players to watch in the league. He does have a lot of skill however and the Nets made out. I definately didn't want to see us trade for Kidd due to age. He can't have much longer at his current age.

Great trade for the Nets, Vince will most likely be the next player traded off that team. The better question is do the Nets start tanking? That will have more of an affect on the lottery

There's something off about Stackhouse's comments. I mean, I'm aware they had likely agreed pre-trade to buy out Stack, and he is keen to return to Dallas, but if the trade has gone through, he is a member of the Nets right now, I don't know, am I crazy? Just seems like till the formality of the buyout and 30 day period is over, he should be quiet.

"I think Devin has a lot of upside, but Jason Kidd is the type of all-league point guard our teams needs," Stackhouse said. "We just need a jolt. Adding a player like him can re-energize a team, hopefully."

New Jersey tanking would be good news for us. We've already completed our 3 games against them (lost all three yay!!) but other teams in the tanking hunt like Memphis, New York, Philadelphia (x2), Milwaukee (x2), Indiana (x4) and Charlotte have games against them. New Jersey has 23 wins already, so we'd need to go 14 and 18 while they go on a 30 game losing streak to even tie. Let them tank and help the aforementioned teams get some wins, making it easier for us to keep draft position.

HAHAHAHA, Devean George just vetoed the Kidd trade.

Marc Stein of ESPN.com is reporting that Mavericks forward Devean George has exercised his right to veto a trade to the Nets, putting the brakes the blockbuster deal involving Jason Kidd.

Mark's gonna be a millionaire after this. Of course, he started as a billionaire.

to paraphrase Chris Rock... if Micky Arison woke up with Mark Cuban's bank account, he'd kill himself

also: this is why we never hear about (and should never hear about) most NBA trades until they happen. Now Cuban has to come up with plan B, whether it is re-signing KVH and throwing him in the deal or Eddie Jones' contract, but today the Mavs locker room has to be a weird place for a contending team. Consider Stack's comments re: Kidd and Harris, Harris knowing he isn't wanted by the team that drafted him, Devean George's power play. Mavs aren't known as the most mentally strong and resilient team as it is (see 2006 and 2007 endings to their season).

Dirk was so upset that the Mavs staff had to hide all the stationary bicycles in the building.

If they don't want Marcus Williams, who IMO is going to be a whole lot better than Harris, then let's trade for the guy.

Trading Kidd was suppose to tell Marcus that he's their guy. Now they're getting Harris, another young PG?

I think they'll be open to a trade for our expirings - surely Diop or Krstic or williams or boone might be available.
