So what did Daequan do to get on Riley's bad side?

During the postgame presser, Apparently Riles alluded that him not playing is a 'non basketball issue'..

Or is Riley being Riley in regards to not giving rookies the benefit of the doubt...

At this point Pat needs to step down if he won't play our young tallent.
The season is lost and now he wants to play mind games again this time with Cook? There is no excuse not to play Cook at this point

Riley said he is thinking about sending Cook down to the D league now.....

WTF?

Yea Cook was in a shooting slump, but he is a rookie and one of our best scorers. He needs much more playing time to gain valuable NBA experience, I don't get why Riley ruins rookies all the time like this.

I believe Wright would have been way better by now on just about any other team and Cook would have been one of the best rookie scorers this season. Why doesn't Riley let them grow with playing time?

Practice can't teach you like games can and plus our season is over, how much can playing Cook hurt?

If you can't work on developing young talent in a season like this something is really wrong.I really don't want Riley to be the coach of our #1 overall draft pick.

Yea, I hold the same sentiments. Riley wants a quick fix. That's simply not on the horizon...Wish he'd see it through, but it's just not the type.

The Spoelstra era can't start soon enough...

Its time for Pat to step down if hes thinking that way. Can you imagine how he will slow/(Please Use More Appropriate Word) the growth of this years lottery pick with that mentality.

What did Daequan do? He didn't come to the league as a veteran proven player. He's a rookie. That's enough to get on Riley's bad side.

Thank god, that when Riley stepped down, Stan Van Gundy was here and gave Dwyane a chance to develop into a man as a rookie in the league. If Riley was still coaching in 2004, who knows where Dwyane would be right now.

Stan having so much confidence on a rookie in the playoffs really made Wade's career.

Kind of like, what Jimmy Johnson did when he was coaching the Dolphins; he put this undersized rookie linebacker out of Texas Tech on the field to call plays for a veteran defense. What a career he has had, huh?

Yea he did, he was almost forced to then as we had nobody on that roster.

He was born in the 80's, thats what he did. Like an earlier poster said, I am also of the opinion that Wade's first couple of years in the league would have been much different had Pat been his coach, as opposed to Van Gundy. Riley refuses to let raw, young players learn through actual playing time. He seems to think that in order for a young player to develop, he needs to jerk them around with inconsistent playing time, criticize their work ethic, and threaten them through the media. This mentality is ego-based, immature, and selfish. We have all seen this act before. Daequan better hope that Riley steps down this off-season. Otherwise he will be the next Dorell Wright, waiting four years to finally have a place and role on this team.

It went really good this year. All the player seemed to be happy to be there(No Smush lol). They had the trophy on display and let you take a picture with it and a player(I Got ZO). This also was probley the best food court they have had in the last 5 years. Weather was good all day, Alittle hot but hey its miami. The miami heat staff was great as well. Dorrel and Wade were having way to much fun, The whole time they were throwing water ballons at each other and messing around. DQ was in the dunk tank! DQ is a funny guy, the entire time he was dancing and doing things with fans. They also had a silent auction. I won my self Game used DQ Shoes signed for 100 bucks and Carmelo Anthony Jersey signed for 200. Overall i would give the event a A+. The miami heat are truly the best at making the fans feel wanted.

PS. I just want to thank the miami heat for Putting me on the Banner outside! (Thanks kenny and the Miami heat staff)

Before this season started, I had predicted that we would see very little from Cook, given Riley's track record with rookies. I was shocked when he was a regular in the rotation for the first two months or so of the season. Now he has reverted to form and it's really a disservice. I still think we did a horrible job with Wright last year and we seem to be repeating the mistake with Cook. Hopefully, he'll keep working hard and get some run in the last 10 games or so.
