heat family fest - comment and photos

Post#1 » by fitz » Mon Feb 25, 2008 4:38 pm

i have to say i've been to a lot of heat events, and the players yesterday seemed so lifeless. especially when they were introduced. the PA guy announced them and few barely acknowledged the crowd, barely changing facial expressions and/or waving. this losing must have them in the dumps.

in any event, here's a link to photos from a cool web mag in miami:

Kid's getting better on his smile. A little more coy here. Looking good.

Perhaps the smile is why Riley wants to send him to the D league.

I beg to differ. I think it was pretty good compared to past years. It was alil hot but not crazy, last year it rained. The players were very nice(The users are d3cks). The food was great. They had so much food from so many good places. The silent auction was better this year then years past. Also DQ was having a great time. I thought the player were happy to be there unlike other times. DQ was having the time of his life(Going to the dunk tank,Face paint,Dancing). Dorrel and Wade are BF and GF(they were throwing water balloons at each other the whole time). Ya he games could of been better but hey who really goes for the games? Ya the crowd did not erupt like years past for the team but hey when you hear the names "Earl barron,Chris quinn,Mark blount,Jasonwilliams" i dont think its something to be to excited about.

Trey comes up to Zo's shoulder. He's not even 13 is he? Either Zo isn't really 6'10 or that kid is huge.

All I got from those photos was that Jason Williams kid is named Jaxon. Seriously, Jaxon, Dwyane, Alonzo, Dorell, Jo-El, Daequan? People, named your kids proper names!

What's wrong wif Alonzo? That name has been around for centuries.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

That one of you with the trophy casting a mysterious golden light on your neck is kind of Twilight Zone/ The Omen creepy. Watch out.

I just noticed scrolling through the photos that they have a pic of DJ Irie and "Earl Barron." I looked a little closer thinking to myself "that's Earl Barron?" Sure enough it's Joel Anthony. Not even the local press knows who the hell Earl Barron and Joel Anthony are. Damnit, we need that Beasley kid!!

I noticed the same thing but just like the press, after looking at it, I had my doubts.
