Wright is almost certainly taking the qualifying offer this summer. I don't think anyone if offering him the MLE or more, someone may be tempted to offer $3 mill or so but the heat would probably match that. We'll have a Varajeo/Pavlovic summer with Wright IMO, unless Marion opts out.

And I'm guessing this is a short stint in the NBDL for Cook.

He's only 22, so he'll come back just fine.

The Heat are having great luck this season... :( Well I think Wright going under the knife should be a reason for Riley to shut Wade down. Players are in danger of getting hurt anytime they are on the floor, and the Heat having nothing to play for at this point in the season. Hopefully Wade starts getting his minutes cut down when there are ten games left in the season. I know Wade has an obligation to the fans, but true fans would want Wade to do what his best for his health.

Yea Cook should be back now and get minutes.

Nah I think Wade needs to play and become more durable, do the best he can til the end of the year. He could sit out all season now and then get hurt in game 1 next year and have a season ending injury.

Maybe he can work on a part of his game from now til the end of the year and improve in some area. Wouldn't that be more productive?

If he is in terrible pain then he should sit out, but if he is 80% or more and not in real pain, keep playing.

Tough break. He had been playing better lately. It's a shame we couldn't keep investing some more minutes.

Doe we bring back Turdchucker when Smuch gets bought out?

he still hasnt learned how to dribble a basketball unfortunately..id bring him back for a couple mill to shoot that little midrange, catch alleyoops, and block some shots.

I'd bring him back if he can be had for the right price, we'll see what that is come summer, because you know some team is going to throw a bit more than expected at him because of the untapped potential he has.

Miami Wants To Bring Wright Back

March 4, 2008 - 5:07 pm

ESPN -

Dorell Wright has been lost for the rest of the season, but Pat Riley already knows that he wants to bring him back next year, according to the Associated Press.

Wright will be a restricted free agent this summer, after having successful surgery to repair a left knee tear.

"I think it'd be a foolish option to let Wright leave," Riley said. [READ]
