Heat board tournament pool?

Post#1 » by Lane1974 » Mon Mar 17, 2008 3:16 pm

I set up a pool on CBSSportsline.com, I think it would be fun to do it for board bragging rights. PM me with your email address so I can invite you in.

:rofl2:

That's fantastic...

It is also unbearably sad that our roster is that pathetic...

Well, I think I'm already otoo far behind, I went for upsets with Temple, Georgia and Arizona and picked USC and BYU who got beaten by lower seeds.

An overall disappointing day for top draft prospects.

Beasley was impressive after a slow start and foul trouble. I'm not sure I see superstar on this guy as he seems a bit of a tweener. He's got very good toughness and physicality though to make up for it. I was trying to pick what level I think he will achieve in reference to other first picks, and I was thinking he's like half way between Kenyon Martin and Joe Smith, two tweeners who went number one. He's probably not advanced as Joe Smith was offensively coming into the league, and not as advanced defensively as Kenyon, but is kind of a hybrid of their two skills on each side of the ball imo.

Mayo had a rough shooting night, and made some bad decisions trying to get in the lane and having nowhere to go, but showed a nice NBA level 3 and really good awareness with a few nice assists.

Didn't get to watch Lopez, but his numbers were terrible.

Jordan saw 1 minute on the floor and is a huge risk at a high draft spot.

Bayless was also unimpressive and his shot selection looked terrible. I assume he usually makes those shots as he didn't get yanked by the coach for contested threes and so on. Very disappointing to me

I watched Georgia play Xavier and I liked Josh Duncan as a SF. He's a 4 year guy who hit the boards and was very active and seemed to be an energiser for that team, anyone think he has any chance of getting in the league?

sry but you must have not been watching enough kansas state games.

hes not a tweener. he can play either the sf or pf and he will be a pf foward in the league. once again i repeat he will be a pf and he will def. play pf for us if we get him bcuz its a perfect 1 4 combo on the pick and roll.

he uses both hands just as good as a guy like wade. that is real scary for a 19 6'9 kid.

first of all youre forgetting that this guy is a monster rebounder, and will easily be a 10 rpg guy in the nba. QUOTE ME ON THAT

and he is just as advanced as joe smith was in his freshmen year, no doubt about it.

kenyon in his prime was a better defender than beasley, and that isnt a dis on beasley, just cuz kenyon was that good. and beasley will get better at D and has shown flashes of great defense. I dont see great shot blocking ability there, but i do see a real good ability to defend the low post. and he has great foot speed to switch on guards and do other things we like to do.

if hes like any number 1 pick, id say derrick coleman.

but a real nasty coleman.

i could go on for days but beasley is one of the most obvious 20 10 players to come out in years. hes just not gonna get them like your standard 4 man.

I admitted as much, that was the first time I saw him (outside of youtube dunks). He looked good, but he seemed a bit.... smallish. he's 6'9-6'10 230-240 pounds, similar size to Kenyon Martin and Joe Smith. Big enough to play PF, but some of the bigger PF's (Brand, Duncan etc) will overpower him.

The comparison wasn't meant as a slight, if Joe Smith was more intimidating and physical he would have been a dominating player in this league (If we got Beasley I'd be cool with the type of numbers Joe put up in GSW his first couple of years, if he got to the line more and matched up better defensively).

He just seems a bit light for PF right now, but then he is 19 i guess. I was still impressed with him overall.

Beasley:think (Antwain Jamison in 1998 )
without the 3 point shot at the moment

but

Beasley has a picture perfect shot .When it's all say and done
Beasley will be dropping 3 points consistently

Fun facts :
- The Miami Heat surpassed the Knicks in championships
- Only the Lakers, Bulls, Celtics and Spurs have more championships

I think we should start over.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?
