Western Conference Matchups

Post#1 » by Riled Up » Thu Apr 17, 2008 11:27 am

The Lakers did their job and finished with the best record in the West and the #1 seed. On top of that they have gotten very lucky with how the rest of the conference seeds worked out.

They will not have to play the Spurs, Suns, Hornets or Mavericks until the conference finals. It lined up perfectly for them. While those teams beat each other up, the Lakers will be playing Denver and Houston or Utah.

Are we looking at Celtics vs. Lakers?

I am pulling for the Hornets this year. How awesome would it be for that community to make some noise in the playoffs?

Agreed, and when you take a look at the Hornets roster and think about the fact that they won 56 games, how awesome is Chris Paul?!?

I honestly don't know if there is another player who could lead his team to 56 wins playing next to Chandler, West, Peterson & Stojakovic......................

D West is a very very underrated player.

Him and Chandler make a pretty good front line

Stojakovic used to be an all-star, he is the x-factor for them in the playoffs

But Chris Paul is the man, never underestimate the way he looks he's as competitive as anyone

the reason the hornets are so good is because everyone plays their role, with chris paul being the catalyst and making everyone better.

they don't rely on Chandler or Peja to score 25 a game for them to win

In the West, any team could lose in the first round. I think Denver could take it to the Lakers. Besides Kobe, Fisher and Jackson, they are pretty inexperience going far in the Playoffs. I know the Nuggets too, haven't gotten out the first round, but they are still a 50 win team, vs a 57 win team. That series could go seven.

In the East I think is between Boston Detroit, but a team I could see as a suprise is Orlando.

Perhaps Butler's Washington could surprise a few - especially Cleveland with Arenas back too.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders
