Who are the Bulls going to take with the number one

Post#1 » by CoolD » Wed May 21, 2008 12:28 am

Who should the Bulls take, they have a small team. But who do you think they will go with. Beasley or Rose.

2 is not bad, but I wanted to have the option to pick the first one.

But not as bad as it could of been.

Even though Rose is from Chicago, they have been desperate for a post presence. Can't see them not taking Beasley.

I'm just happy to finish top 2, 3 was a huge dropoff. But Chicago I think takes Rose, he's from the area and the best player in the draft

The Bulls would be dumb not to take Beasley. They would have to trade Hinrich, who has a considerably low trade value right now and would have an even lower trade value with the Bulls desperate to move him and would still have a huge hole in the post.

I think the Bulls have to take Beasley.. They have too many perimeter players.

No way is Chicago taking Beasley over Rose considering the character concerns surrounding Beasley and the fact that Rose has a reputation for being a great leader and high-character guy.

Paxson really emphasizes "high character" when it comes to acquiring players.

I can't see him taking the risk of passing on Rose.

Beasley fits perfectly into their core right now: Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Beasley, Noah

That team scares me a lot more then: Rose, Gordon, Deng, Thomas/Gooden, Noah

But he got rid of Scott Skiles, maybe the guy has changed his views. I hope so.

But if they would of gotten D'Antoni as the coach, that would of guaranteed Rose going to the Bulls.

I agree, they have been desperate for a post presence for years now, and Beasly brings that, and they have Kirk and Duhon. Why take another pg then pay Kirk starter money, and be at an all-time low trade value? I would be happy with either to be honest, both will be stars. The lottery is so dumb man. The Bulls, with 1.9 % chance get the top pick..it makes no sense man. If they take Rose, we get Beasley, and will unload Marion as a free agent in the summer(or trade for an impact player right away), and be a player in the free agent pool in 2009.

The league is turning into a PG league and Rose is there for the taking so the Bulls better take him.

You know Hinrich is

1. Wade's age
2. Great defender
3. Very good 3 point shooter
4. Doesn't need the ball in his hands
5. A good (not great) floor general

He's really a very good PG to team with Wade. If Chicago takes Rose, we should offer Haslem for Hinrich, or Marion and filler.

C - Noah / Gooden
PF - Marion or Haslem / Thomas
SF - Deng / Nocioni
SG - Hughes / Gordon
PG - Rose / Duhon

So we would trade Marion for Hinrich and the Bulls don't give up either of Nocioni, Thomas, Gooden, Noah etc.? That's a terrible trade for the Heat.

Couple of things to remember regarding Chicago:

1) Both Gordon and Duhon are free agents, though Gordon is restricted, Duhon had problems with their coaching staff.

2) Hinrich has played off guard before, and done so on a full time basis.

3) They do have both Drew Gooden and Tyrus Thomas at power forward, and Tyrus was a very high pick. They may want to go for the guard, knowing their frontcourt is adequate, while their backcourt is suspect. After all, this is a guard driven league these days.

Either way though, we cannot lose IMO. Their is no bad choice for us. If we get Beasley, we can deal Marion for whatever the hell we want or extend him, because Beasley is our interior guy, leaving the need for cap space as a non-issue IMO. Why go after Brand or Boozer when we already have Beasley? If we get Rose, we run like hell with he and Wade in the backcourt, and Marion and Haslem up front. That's huge for us. We really have no wrong answer to this...

im so happy at 2..its a win win

I hear people wanting to pass up on Beasley cause of Marion..or trade Marion if we get Beasley...why? Theyre nothing alike, they complement each other well..one plays with the ball, the other moves well without the ball.

With Marion and Beasley at the forward spots well have the best rebounding forward tandem..to the point where we can get away with playing Blount at Center.

Great post, CB4.

There are two things Marion can't do: create facing the basket and score in the post. Beasley does both of these things exceptionally well. Wade and a new PG (TJ Ford?) would have three forwards that play hard, catch the ball and finish.
