Amid its deliberations over its No. 2 pick in the June 26 NBA Draft, the Miami Heat continued Monday its workouts of veteran free agents who did not finish this past season in the league.

The latest foursome to work out at AmericanAirlines Arena were former Santa Clara guard Doron Perkins, who spent this past season playing in Belgium; former Fresno State forward Quinton Hosley, who played this past season in Turkey; former Mississippi State center Marcus Campbell, who spent the end of this past season in Italy; and former Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves forward Justin Reed, who spent this past season with Bakersfield of the NBA Development League.

Nice to know we're being active. Let's figure out who's worthy of our summer league and maybe find the next Udonis Haslem, Voshon Lenard, Anthony Mason, etc., etc....

Riley seems to find a gem or two every so many years. Add Bruce Bowen, Mike James, Malik Allen (not near a gem but still in the NBA) etc.. to BBall's list.

IMO, we are due.

Well it looks like Stephon Lasme is still with the team in soome capacity. It will be good to see him if possible develop into a shot blocking version of Bruce Bowen.

Visiting Tuesday were Maryland senior forward James Gist and St, Bonaventure senior forward Michael Lee, a West Palm Beach native who attended Cardinal Newman High School.

James Gist seems like a potential player at 52#. Next up Beasley

I hope the Heat bring in Sasha Kaun for a workout. I really think this guy is gonna be the best option if the Heat keep their pick at 52. Kaun is pretty much 6'11 with a longer wingspan and standing reach than DeAndre Jordan. Kaun isn't affraid to bang down low and would provide the Heat with good depth at the C position.

I was thinking Lasme could be almost an Andre Kirilenko type of player off the bench ( in a lot smaller roll of course) but I do like the comparison to a shot blocking Bruce Bowen.

I also think Joel Anthony is gonna be a steal. I remember a UNLV fan saying this guy has a 7'9 wingspan or something. Anthony is a special shot blocker (as is Lasme). I think Anthony can turn out to be what Zo is late in his career, without Zo intensity of course. (Someone that comes off the bench and is able to change the game because of his defense.)

If the Heat draft Kaun, I think a tandem of Kaun and Joel Anthony would be very solid backup C's for the future. The Heat would just have to find a starting C for the future.

Sasha Kaun is going to be a Long Time Backup Center in this league. Something that every contender needs. I really think Kaun will be gone by 52, so we may have to move up a little.Kaun is going to have a career like Jeff Foster or Micheal Doleac. Lasme on the other hand is a borderline bench player, The guy has size but does not have the nba skills. Joel is a nice 15th Man.

Zo-Blount-Kaun
Haslem-Beasley
Marion-Dorrel
Wade-Cook
Banks-Quinn

That team is borderline playoffs and if we can move Blount or banks then we are talking. I know alot of you guys will knock me for likeing banks but i think he can be a decent starter for us.
