Peoples it Bank not Blount who need to be trade!
Marcus Bank 3/13 million is more of a problem than Mark Blount 2/14
Let look to the future
If Riley don't sign Marion this season the Heat will have 16-18 million
in cap space 09
If PAt sign player x to max contract in 09
using all 16-18 million or (player x plus sign Dorrel wright)
next season cap space is about 14-15 mill (Haslem,Blount)
A trade getting rid of Bank this season or next will give the Heat close
20 million in Cap space(this is with Wade 17m count against our cap)
other option is to sign Marion to about 13 million dollar deal cut DW1
leave 17 million the fellow season 2010
discuss

Thing is, Marcus Banks can actually be a productive player and have role for this team (combo guard of the bench) and while his contract is lengthy, the actual annal figure is moderate. It's 2.5 Million less than the Mid Level Exception. Think an overpaid Keyon Dooling.
Mark Blount on the hand is flat out terrible, and a complete liability on the floor. And he's making that of a starting centers salary for the next 2 seasons.
Lord I wish his agent pulls an Anthony Carter next summer and forgets to submit papers for his 7.5 million option.

Marcus Bank will not become the reason the Heat make or miss
the Playoff
I have no problem with MB playing out this season
but Cap space in 2010 is the mission
the different 14-15 availability or 20 million availability 5m plus cap raise is huge
Haslem will become a ufa as will
Blount contract is not the liability we make it out to be
yes Blount is over paid but his contract is done 2010
giving the Heat another off-season of add a max player (not w/ 14m)
but with 20m without Banks on the roster)

We are NOT waiting until 2010 to make a move. Trust that.

yeh, i like banks better than blount, i remembvered he dropped 20 4x before he went down, and i was hoping to have him since 2006, he's a good guy but for the right price, but i think he's good.
I rather have him than mark blount.

I agree with Vincent, its Banks and not Blount. The reason I'm for moving Banks is his contract that runs till 2011.
Looks like the Heat doesn't have any problem to Blounts contract. Check this sites below to see that he has a Early Termination Contract (ETO).
ShamSports and
ESPNAnyone here knows or have any idea how much the ETO on Blounts?

An ETO is the player's option, not the team's. Their is absolutely no way in hell he exercises it.

Unless he becomes a badass and wants a bigger contract

Base from this site
Larry CoonHere's a summary of the differences between an option and an ETO:
Options can occur only when one season remains on the contract, while ETO's can occur when two seasons remain if the contract is for seven seasons.
Options can be included in any multiyear contract, but ETO's are allowed only with six or seven year contracts.
ETO's can be based on performance benchmarks, but options can't.
Only a player can be given an ETO, but an option can be given to the player or to the team.
Option years may not have a lower salary than the previous season. ETO's have no such restriction
If Blount has the option on his last year of his contract, then sites like shamsport or ESPN will put it Player Option instead of ETO. I've read about a news/report that Stackhouse has an ETO to the last year of his contract. I read it also that Dallas can terminate his contract early by buying it out his last year for $2m. Therefore, Stack's final year is only guaranteed for $2m. I'm thinking of the same case with Blount or maybe as what the quote above says which is base from performance.
An option and a ETO has a difference thats why I don't believe Blount has the option.

Except that Banks is an excellent defensive player, a very good shooter, and in excellent shape. I don't know what the hell Heat fans have against the guy but I love his game and think he's a perfect fit next to Wade and we saw flashes of that last season. Maybe he's not a full time starter but he can split the minutes with Chalmers.
Blount is just ****ing terrible and needs to go ASAP.

My friend, read what YOU quoted. Their is no other kind of ETO than a player ETO. None! Face it, we're stuck with Blount unless he suddenly gets really good or really stupid...

The only difference is that Banks doesn't make me want to shoot myself in the balls when I watch him play.

yes I don't think Blount will do either one ..
but back to my point
I like M.Bank, It just Banks is a back-up in this league not a starter IMO
IF we can get rid of Banks contract b4 2010 awesome
Then the HEAT can have in between 18-20 million in cap space 2010
and
still have 16 million in cap 2009 ....
that's my focus....

But check the quote below. Its says based on performance, and if thats the case, then its not just a player option. Right?
I hope I don't annoy you. Just want to clear things out.
ETO's can be based on performance benchmarks, but options can't.

Right, if I'm making $4 million a season, but averaging 20 points per game, I'm damned glad that a performance based ETO is in place.
Look, I'll tell you here what I told you on the trade board - I've given you the right answer. If you don't believe me, go ask the CBA board. They'll tell you the same thing...
