Fellow Heaters: Scared or Optimistic??

I'd like to know where the rest of my fellow Heat fans stand.

Are you scared out of your mind that Riley will completely screw this thing up come tomorrow? (not to mention you will vomit upon his doing so).

OR

Are you optimistic that Riley is smokescreening, wheeling and dealing, and will ultimately make an insanely good decision? (not to mention you will have fun time with yourself upon doing so).

Me personally? I'm scared.

I was optimistic but now im scared. Everything sounds crazy and where there is smoke there is fire. Riley may pull some tricks out of his hate and get Beasley and another lottery or he can just be crazy and risk everything for a 3-4 year run. So to answer your question, Scared, Very Scared.

I would say both, although if I was to choose one I would say optimistic because...

thinking the same thing. Hopefully Riley is just working on getting another pick (#5  ) instead of dealing #2 :(

I'm really scared about what Riley will do with the #2 pick. But, optimistic that Riley might find a way to get another pick in the draft without dealing our pick.

scared. No way is dumping Blount worth losing Beasley. I fear it will be a Roy Hinson for Brad Daugherty type mistake if Beasley is dealt.

When push comes to shove, Riley has usually made the right call, with the exception of the Dorell Wright selection. In 2002, Caron fell into our laps and we pulled the trigger. In 2003, we took Wade, and while the Kaman stuff may be true or not true, Wade was still the pick. Simien and Dequan were the best available players when then the Heat picked and Riley took them. Pat may very well be intrigued by Mayo, but Beasley's talent will be too much to pass up IMO

I am more optimistic than scared. Riley has all the tools at his disposal to make us competitive this coming year while putting us in perfect position financially to add a star within the next two years.

I don't believe Riley will botch this thing to the point where he sets he franchise back 10 years, but I am very weary of how tempted he'll be to mortgage the future for veterans.

To me, there are only 3 things that could happen where I would walk away from the evening in absolute disgust:

1. Riley passes on Beasley at #2 to take Mayo.
2. Riley trades down, accepting a deal that is similar to the rumors we've heard with regards to Memphis and Seattle.
3. Riley packages the #2 and Marion together.

Optimistic. I don't think we trade down or out just to get Mike Miller or Conley. If we make a move it will be for a Elton Brand type talent or move down a couple spots and get rid of our grossly overpaid players while picking up an asset or two.

I don't really care. Just gonna wait and see what happens. In whatever scenario, the Heat are getting new players that i will look forward to watching come late October.

i was confident...but you add Wades wanting a PG badly and Riley cap space plan for Boozer/Brand...its very likely Riley makes a pretty big mistake.

I mean worse things can happen. IF the Heat aren't content with Beasley, I sure as hell hope they end up with Mayo somehow. If either of those 2 aren't picked and kept by the end of tomorrow night I will be extremely pissed and dissappointed. This season would of been a complete waste. Imagine next years core of Mayo-Wade-Boozer/Brand. Or Wade-Beasley-Brand/Boozer.
