Alonzo Mourning has more work on injured knee

ORLANDO - Although Alonzo Mourning still hopes to return from last season's serious knee injury, the Heat center required an additional procedure recently amid his comeback bid.

Three sources familiar with Mourning's rehabilitation confirmed the procedure but said the center still could be able to make it back to the court by midseason.

Looks like Zo won't be close to playing for a while, who do we even have Blount and Anthony?

We need to make a trade for sure to get a starting C somehow unless we're gonna play with Haslem at C a lot and run.

Well, I imagine it wont be anyone who's starting now for their team. Not many teams would be looking to get rid of a starting C. I'm guessing Bogut, Biedrins, Kaman, Dalembert, or Haywood. Maybe Wilcox? It would be nice if we could work out a S&T for Okafor.

Does Jeff Foster start for Indy?? Cuz if he doesn't, I can't think of a better center to start with....but yea all those C's mentioned^^ are good, although I dnt see us realistically gettin any of them except Wilcox.

Okafor would be a dream come tru! :D

Yes Foster starts for Indy. Their posters feel the same way about him that we do about Haslem and clearly stated that they would be unwilling to deal Foster for Haslem straight up. Makes no sense to me, as they have Hibbert as their future C and could set up a nice, young lineup of Ford-Rush-Granger-Haslem-Hibbert, but they have said Foster means too much to their team.

I think Mutombo should be considered. True, he's ancient, but he is still a quality rebounder, defender and shot blocker. He's only got a year or two left, which is about the same as Mourning, but there'd be something nice about reuniting the Hoya pair in their final year. We could them either wait to use the Marion cap space on a FA center next year, or we could trade him before the deadline for the center of the future, or we could draft a center next year. I'm one who thinks Marion may be perfect match between Wade and Beasley because of his versatility, his defense and the fact that you don't have to call plays for him. I'd like to see how that threesome works together for half a season, as opposed to just trading Marion away now.

I would trade Marion for Okafor. I really think Okafor is a possibility. Okafor plays great defense and thats exactly what you need along side an Offensive Beasly. Okafor would take defensive responsibilities away from Beasly. And paying him 12 million is not to much compared to what these others Center are getting. Okafor is in the the top ten in FG percentage, Blocks and Rebounds(HE EVEN GOT 10 BLOCKS IN ONE GAME). He averages 14 points a game but his FG Perentage is sky high. Thats what is important.

Also Beasly is a PF period. We don't need a PF in next years free agency. So getting Carlos or Bosh next year won't help. We need a center. Thats why its so important to get Okafor in a trade this year instead of waiting for his price range to rise in next years free agency.

Question 1 How bad does Okafor want to leave the Bobcats?

Question 2 Can Marion play PF for th Cats if we would trade him(he has in the past)?

To me, though undersized, Marion is more effective as a four. And I agree about Boozer and Bosh, we dont need another PF.
