Bruins frontrunners to land Nik Antropov?

Post#1 » by 15th overall » Wed Jan 21, 2009 11:20 pm

HockeyBuzz earlier today wrote:Nik Antropov is still holding down the #1 spot as the most trade-able player on The NHL Trade Rumor Chart and today there is much talk about the Bruins. However, the Flames, Sabres, and Flyers are also very much in on this.

Not sure what it would take to get him but I like the idea of adding him rather than giving Kessel and/or Lucic for Vinny Lecavalier.

Good to see them being interested in Antropov. I wonder if they are scouting him tonight? B's need to make a deal because of the plethora of injuries that has occurred to this team.

And Yeah, I am definitely not for Vinny. It would take way too much to get him. A TB player I might like in the hub would be Marty St. Louis. Let Vinny go to montreal, where they will probably overpay.

I would love to land st.louis or vinny. But the price for either would probably be too high.

I would like to hear what a possible deal would be for nik though, he is a very good hockey player.

Yes, how much, that is my question too. He is good, his contract only has little more then 2 million against the cap. The only problem is he is a UFA at the end of the season, so I would hate to give up too much for a rent a player.

Well for comparison Gonchar cost us Shaone Morrisonn, a 1st and 2nd round pick. So maybe something like a low-to-mid level prospect and a 2nd rounder for Nik?

Check out the odds chart they got on where he lands. We're leading the charge with a 25% chance right now.

Yeah, he is a good right winger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3gCjcic4CY :D He's the pepsi guy.

I would love to have him. I just don't to give up too much to get him. He will be a UFA next year, but his cap hit this year is not bad.

Here is what I would like the bruins to look like down the stretch:

Lucic-Savard-Kessel

Wheeler-Krecji-Ryder

Axelsson-Bergeron-Antropov

Thornton-Yelle-Kobasew

-Other trade possibilities would be Keith T. (I don't want to butcher last name :) ) or Martin St. Louis.

Anyone else think manny will get traded? He was playing magnificent, but since jan. started, has he even played? Non-existent really. So many questions surrounding him, I wonder if it is just an injury that the coach and chia are trying to hide, or maybe he is not getting along with Julien, and is in his doghouse.

S.Louis would make this team the favorite for the cup if we could land him. We would defiantly have to give up some type of decent young talent (Hamill + picks) + manny.

But my theory is

If Lacavielar gets traded to Montreal, expect St.Louis to be out the door soon too. And that that would juice up the rivalry even more if Boston could land him.

Im all in for Martin St.Louis at the right price....and yes I am a greedy SOB

Manny has played very well this year and has really been just as good as Thomas at some points, but the past 3 weeks he has had "general soreness" so I am not really sure whats up with that. And with his injury prone history, we need to explore the possibilities of trading him.

Hey, I am a first time poster but thought I would mention this:

I understand that Boston is at the top of their game right now, but there are strong rumors coming out of other team's front offices saying that Thomas is on the block for the right price. The story is that while the Bs want to resign him, they are not ready to overpay and believe that he is more so a product of their system than pure skill. As per gmhockey.com, they are willing to listen to offers but have decided to let him walk on the offseason if he demands more than what their salary structure can accomodate (i.e. what they deem that he is worth).

J.J. is a fine owner. Better then that Kraft macaroni guy. Or the 3 stooges in Fenway.

Seriously though, Timmy getting dealt this season would be a horrible move.

I am a big rask guy. I think he is the future, and I do agree that it would not be wise to overpay Thomas this off-season when you have rask who is just about ready to step up. But again, to even listen to offers is ridiculous. You're fighting for the number one spot in the east.
