Sturm to have Surgery

Post#1 » by Celtics_Champs » Mon Jan 5, 2009 3:58 pm

Marco Sturm will need surgery on his injured left knee in the coming weeks, according to a report out of the Boston Herald.

No report yet on whether he will be out for the year or if he can come back.

I think he is done for the year. Shannahan time?

Shannahan doesn't seem like a possibility. Most likely we will just look to the baby B's for some help. Sturm really wasnt producing to much anyways. He will be missed though, really a fun player to watch.

Get well soon sturmy

Wishful thinking I guess.

But as much as I love the providence guys coming in and stepping up. I think the B's should bring in another veteran on to this team.

Agree'd, I just know that shannahan wants to play in a very big market. Also Im not sure even if he wants to come back, we don't have a lot of cash to throw at him.

Maybe its time to bring back peter schaefer?

Im not sure who else we can sign for dirt cheap. Or maybe a small deal.

Any word on Ward, he got hurt again.

I like that idea. Correct me if I am wrong, but Schaefer played pretty well against montreal in the playoff series last year, didn't he. I remember he had some fire into him.

Maybe spending all that time in the AHL taught him a few things and he can come up here and make an impact.

Ward update: does not look too serious.

Julien said after the workout that Aaron Ward, felled early in Saturday's game with a charley horse, will skate in tomorrow morning's workout and could be available to face the Wild for the 7 p.m. start. ''He's doing better,'' said Julien, ''his range of motion is pretty good.''

Yes peter did do well. He had the huge assist on savy's ot winner in game 3. Maybe we can call him up.

Thank god Ward is not seriously hurt. That would have been a huge blow to our defense.
