Week Ahead 2/24-2-28

Post#1 » by Celtics_Champs » Tue Feb 24, 2009 5:22 pm

Tuesday 2/24 Panthers vs Bruins 7:00 PM
Thursday 2/26 Ducks vs Bruins 7:00 PM
Saturday 2/28 Capitals vs Bruins 1:00 PM

Dakid, I hope you don't mind, I stole your idea, and did the week ahead instead of individual game threads. Looking on other boards, most people have season game threads. And Chicago does individual game threads. I thought this would be a nice in between. I will make a nice game thread if it is a big game though.

On to this week. Rare visit from the ducks, leading into the big match-up of the week, the caps-B's matinee.

Haha No Problemo

It makes it alittle easier this way anyways.

This is a very big stretch of games. I really am looking forward to these next few. I think the Bruins are going to be playing solid hockey.

Lets go B's

If Vokoun shuts us out again I will cry

Yes it was a very great game. All around solid effort.

Ryder with an assist and goal on his first game back....man montreal must miss him eh??

Bergy with a solid goal

Player of the night has to be bitz, he is playing very solid right now. Came out of no where

Great positioning on that shot. Nice play-making by Ryder.

He is showcasing himself for the ducks in a pronger trade

Oh Ryder, it is nice to have you back.

KOBASEW!!!

They chased Giggy. Looks like the offense is starting to get back on track.

WOW!

Lucic got smacked by Mike Brown and Lucic just went off on Brown.

Brookbank ejected, at least that is what Jack Edwards said.

THINGS ARE GETTING HEATED.

Wow, I hope they don't fine lucic for that. Browns on the ground and he just kept punching him. He was really heated. I would be too, Brown and Brookbank were taking cheap shots at him

I can't even recap this CRAZY period, so...

From Flutos blog:

15:33 (2). Marc Savard vs. Scott Niedermayer. Both got the gloves off but couldn't engage. Roughing minors for both.

14:49 (2). Big-time flareup between Milan Lucic and Mike Brown. Brown lands a straight right to start, goes down, then gets tagged by a round of bombs. Lucic points at Brown and yells something nasty as the two sit in the box.

8:30 (2). Marc Savard is back on the bench.

8:20 (2). Shawn Thornton vs. George Parros after the Anaheim tough guy runs over Marc Savard. Long fight between the ex-teammates. Savard off to the room.

Now Montador just tripped one of our guys, so it will be 5 on 3 for the B's

Goal. Kessel!! Well, Kessels leg. Ryder shot it and it deflected in. Ryder for POTG.

Thomas with the assist!!!

Parros holds, bruins back on the PP.

My appologies to Chucky Kobasew. I spoke too early on ryder for player of the game. Kobasew is back in the running with his 2nd goal of the game.

5-0 B's.

Wow, it is really getting bad out there. They took out Yelle at the face-off circle, then hit us after the period ended.

This is the Stars game all over again.

Savard not on the bench. Hopefully Fluto has something up on his whereabouts soon.

Recap: What a game part 3.

-This game was eerily similar to that Dallas Stars game earlier in the season

-The impact ryder has on this team is amazing. What a signing that was by PC. Already back from injury and he has 5 points in 2 games.

-Shutout. 1 goal against in 2 games. TImmy Thomas is on a hot streak right now.

-Look what Koby is doing. Like last year when he got hot around this time. Let's hope he doesn't get hurt again though like last year.

-Back to back 6 goal games, this offense is back on track.

-Hopefully Julien just sat down Savard and Lucic for precautionary reasons, and not because of an injury.

Great game, very exciting, as you can see by the number of posts I made  . Now on to Washington.

Did Lucic break his hand? I didn't see him in the 3rd for the little time I watched the game.

Looks like Whitney has mad an impact on Anaheim in his first game.

Lucic went off on Brown, I've never seen him that angry.

Big game today. Let's see if the Bruins can get a win. If they put up 6 goals again it would be amazing.

You hate to see losses like that, especially when its the two best teams in the east going at it.
