He blocks out so Giannis can grab the rebound.

Except in the playoffs, where he's no where near his man.

He was blocking out for Giannis to grab the rebound when Giannis was injured on the bench  4 rebounds a game in that series is objectively unacceptable

Which is fine when a team has a Giannis, but a disaster when they don’t. We just saw it in the playoffs. That’s why I can’t believe the Pelicans would be very interested in him. Zion doesn’t rebound the ball well either.

Narrator: We have a Giannis.

And have been reliably told that we need to build the team around the assumption we'll always have a healthy Giannis.

You need someone to guard Embiid, Jokic, etc.; or you're going to lose. And few would be able to shoot and/or protect the rim as well as Brook. Plus he'd help us clear his sizable salary, then may well sign for cheap to finish career in Miltown.

Yup. If he's hurt in the playoffs, none of the other roster issues matter.

Then he should have trade value.

Paul Reed would be great

People are sleeping on this option cuz he's not a straight FA right now. But he's ng'ed & they might have to waive him to make FA splashes. They're currently trying to see what they could get in a trade before. Teams know they have to sell cheap at best.

Who does Boston have to guard Jokic or Embiid ?

That's 1 aspect. You have to sacrifice something outside the elite. He can box out, body up big c's on d, rim protect, & is modern in that he can shoot, which we may need w/ Giannis. We didn't have Giannis for the last 2 playoffs. Makes Brook less valuable.

We can/should also pick up a 2 that chases boards/loose balls like Jrue, Tucker, Derrick White, etc. That's where a lot of the ancillary rebounding comes from. In the playoffs w/ Brook out there at times we still boarded well. Then switched to closers.

Horford, but they were lucky to play neither, & overall just got a walk. Can't bank on that anyway.

KP and AL but guard doesn't mean shut down. You just need guys that will bang and not give up so many easy 2s as other teams without the size to match up.

Bobby is a HUGE asset now. Bucks can get something back of value. was hoping the bucks did the smart thing like the spurs did and traded their solid vet in george hill for a late lotto pick and get their kawhi by using bobby to get a latish lotto pick.

Depends what you mean by huge.

What do we think hea actually worth? Probably more than a 25 playoff first, but two? Idk.

You’re making my point for me. I’m arguing Brook isn’t a traditional center because a team needs a Giannis level glass cleaner next to him. That’s just not something a traditional center should require.

We shouldn’t discuss him as a “traditional center” trade asset, because he isn’t one.

Bucks are going to compete for home court next season, but my question for you guys is about next off-season (2025). Will we have more money to make moves? Maybe this season is more about keeping the boat afloat until there's money to play with.

Or are we stuck wearing aprons or whatever you guys are talking about for the near future?

Okay cool, perfectly okay with a two way flier on Umude. A guaranteed NBA deal would've been a bit ambitious
