It’s incredible. Everything he does with his lower half is pointless because it’s not in sync with his shooting motion. He ends up just standing up shooting all arms. Guys like Ray Allen can do that, most cannot, Giannis certainly cannot.

Seriously. With the gravity of those two we should be getting a role player wide open three or easy look at the rim damn near every possession.

We rely on individual greatness to score far too often and not nearly enough due to intelligent play design considering the star power and role player shooting ability we have.

I'm semi-convinced he's shot so many in practice over the years that he straight up overthinks them and ends up bricking them.
Also apparently, Spanoulis helped him with his middle back in Greece over the summer. Couldn't he have helped him with his fts too?

There's a definite possibility of all of this. But there's no doubt he has been working on it. Says every off season. However, what he's doing isn't working.

Sometimes when you practice something the wrong way, its just becomes a habit to do it the wrong way. I think that is what has happened to his free throws. He really hasn't experimented with different styles of shooting them. Its just the same way over and over again.

Maybe he would have better luck doing what dave meyers did at the line cause he was so bad.Anyone remember he started shooting jump shots from the line

Crazy that this board csn see problems in his FT shooting his kinks he has yet the bucks dont have a fu.. qualified shooting coach to look at tapes n see whst the fu.. is going on.
There are pitching coaches who csn watch a pitcher n see a problem in his delivery or windup n help that pitcher become better yet for whats going on 5 years now tbe bucks csnt find someone to sit there eith giannis watch tapes of ray allen dame midds n not help giannis fix his very bad habits shooting fts.
This is also on giannis to cause i just think he cares about improving his ft%

That was a wild 4th quarter to watch.

1.The refs were afwul, like game breaking terrible.
2.The Bucks were playing some solid D, outside Portis giving Paolo an easy three but Orlando was making some tough shots
3.The Bucks simply cant get a rebound or hold on to the ball at points.

I bet when he shoots in practice, he just gets in a rhythm and does it quick, without thinking and this 10 second stuff to get a break in game is just detrimental, as weve noted before.

Reportedly Wilt was doing running dunks on FT attempts in college at practice and was really good at it. He never did it in a game but the NBA outlawed it before he was drafted. Rule 9, section 1.B
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Great the he’s talking about it and busting it out in crunch time. It’d be better if we start actually doing it more (we’re 24th in pick & roll frequency as a team).

Its his WOAT routine, you psych yourself out with that much time. He doesn't take 10 seconds in practice...his routine makes no sense besides in-game rest

You could always fall toward the hoop but not let your foot touch the ground before the ball goes in, like Jack Sikma. Makes the shot shorter. That's my first NBA memory.

Bernman wrote:He got wide open, w/ .4 seconds. Get out to the 3-line, switch on everything, stay on their strong side. All Brook had to do was hold the ball & make a FT. Prince taps the ball out to the 3-pt line when they want 3's and we had nobody there.

I'm relieved w/ the win, but is there anybody less fundamental than the Bucks? Just try throughout the game, do the basics, & you win comfortably.

I was losing my mind that we almost threw this game away with poor rebounding, bad decision making, and terrible defense on the last play. Why would you guard anyone inside the three point line with 0.4 seconds left, up by three? Play a 5 man zone on the perimeter, like what Brooklyn did to us last week when we were in that situation.

We got lucky at the end of this game. It would have been so horrible to waste this fantastic Giannis and Dame performance. We really need to work on our end-of-game situations.

That being said, I’m so happy that Giannis is feasting in the paint recently. This is MVP level Giannis we’re seeing this season. Also really nice to see the Dame and Giannis two man game rolling.
