Joking aside that was the most dominant 5 minute stretch of basketball I can remember

Shades of Jez's series of posts when he watched Game 6 on delay and did some time-insensitive play-by-play posting the day after. Probably my favorite string on all my years Here.

Re-watched again on the Wolves broadcast. They were SO UPSET that KPJ hadn't been called for clamping Gobert's arm. They were not clear on why he'd have his arms through KPJ's armpits on a legal screen.

I can't blame them for being upset, of course, in context.

Man. Can't wait to see it. Stupid blackout rules.
Wait, does the blackout lift the day after?

I checked last night. It's actually 3 days.

Just want to remind people that John Salmons was a super stable, producing player before he got to the Bucks. We had a number of discussions in the years prior to acquiring him that he could replace about 80% of what Michael Redd gave us for 1/4 the cost.

That said, I agree 100% with the sentiments and get the point. KPJ has bounced around everywhere, and there has been reasons for this. So let's just ride this wave and see where it goes.

Want to add to this that the Wolves' announcers were fair and very good overall. PBP guy even specifically called out Porter for how well he responded to the scuffle.

Prez wrote:There was an interview/presser recently where Doc mentioned he really likes the big lineup with Prince/Kuz alongside Giannis/Brook. I still think the dude is a moron with no idea of how to optimize lineups around our best player(s) and I'm not giving him credit for stumbling into lineups that work in the 4th quarter of a game we were down 20+ because of his own idiotic decisions. It is April 9th and we're still starting an objectively stupid starting 5 that all the evidence points to it being stupid. Figure this **** out from the opening tip and then maybe I'll change my tune.

I'm aware of how dramatic this next sentence might sound but starting Prince and Kuzma as our wings is partially ruining my experience as a fan, it's that stupid. Given how huge our front court is, starting Prince at the 3 was dumb, doubling down on that and have him play the 2 is actually insane. Kuz and Prince are both tweeners 4s that can play some 3. Neither should be a full time, starting 3 let alone both of them while one of them is a 2.

Adding to the insanity of that is the fact that 3 of our best bench guys are guards and playing at least one of them with the starting unit would balance that lineup and the bench. I know I'm not the only one beating this drum but I can't express strongly enough how much I hate starting Prince and Kuzma together, sharing the floor with Giannis and Brook. It's like something a 10 year old would do in a video game to play a bunch of tall guys at once.

Anyways, more importantly, amazing comeback! I am all aboard the do anything to keep KPJ train but not at the expense of Dame, I'm not ready to call KPJ a full time second option but he could replace Khris as our third option - similar only in impact with very different skillsets. I'd love to see a Dame/KPJ backcourt pairing. KPJ's athleticism and defense pair nicely and offensively as a 3rd option scorer/initiator.

Salmon was more an outlier than KPJ. Salmons had been a steady, unremarkable journeyman who showed a gear he never indicated he had otherwise. Conversely, KPJ's prodigious skills were never in doubt, it was more a matter if he could harness them in a team setting or do so for a prolonged period of time.

Or to put it another way: the nature of KPJ's play is unexpected, while the level of Salmon's was up to that point w/o precedent.

Case clothed.

The Salmons trade was wild because it was basically us dumping JA and Warrick, both expirings, one of whom was actively killing us on the court, to take on a total bust of a contract in Salmons that the Bulls couldn't wait to dump, because they were certain he was going to pick up his player option and blow up their offseason plans. They gave us a pick swap option in the deal.

Look at Salmon's stats for the 2008-09 season. Pretty much identical to what he did with the Bucks.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/salmojo01.html.

Think perhaps the better discussion point was his age. 29/30. Salmons worked his way up to that level. Then got paid. Then got old in a way that most guys used to have big fall offs at age 31 or so. And he did

As you might recall, that Feb 2010 trade deadline was the lead up to the free agency summer of love, er LeBron. Bosh, Wade, Amare, LeBron, etc. were all going to be FA's.

Chicago assumed they'd be in play for those guys. Salmons had a $6.5mm player option for that following year, that would have knocked out a needed part of the Bulls cap space. So they wanted to dump Salmons contract somewhere, to ensure clean cap. Potsie and Hakim Warick had expiring deals.

And after all those gyrations, the Bulls ended up with Carlos Boozer. It was interesting though to look at that roster. Young Rose, Noah, Deng. That team had some talent. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CHI/2011.html

I'm watching this back from where I turned it off and didn't even know about the scuffle. Gobert turned KPJ into prime Wade.

I'm in the setting just to enjoy these last games. I really like this team.. not fully expecting along playoff run but it's within the realm of possibility--- especially if we get Dame
