Re: Marquette basketball
Shaka hasn't used the portal since Kolek but he's going to have to this year.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

So does Shaka just not believe in the portal?

Good question, I don't believe he's have addressed or (or been asked about it). Maybe they don't allocate any funds for it.

Feels intentional at this point. 3rd year in a row he hasn't brought in a transfer. When he first got here he brought Tyler Kolek & Omax Prosper but since then he basically hasn't touched the portal

Re: Marquette basketball
Shaka has looked at guys in the portal every offseason, but he's pretty open about it having to be a perfect fit and he's not going to add someone just to add someone, especially when we've got younger guys on the roster ready to step up and play bigger roles.
Money isnt the issue, especially with the new revenue sharing rules. The money is just used to retain the guys that we develop instead of trying to overpay on the portal for mid major types who may or may not fit.
He keeps bringing in better and better HS recruiting classes, the future for the program is still looking really strong even after graduating NBA guys the last couple of years.

Maybe, it is worth noting Marquette hasn't really lost anyone noteworthy in the Portal either. That said Marquette could have really used some additions last year and took a pretty big step back. They also don't seem to be projected too highly this year(although projections now aren't exactly known to be spot on)
