Not sure what happened to him after I said I expected him to have a similar cultural impact to Tiger Woods in game 1.

Then you notice the four fouls in 18 minutes.

That of course prompted me to the Cavs boxscore from the other night where Proctor had 35pts.

Didn't see the game, anybody got more to contribute? Appreciation in ad-vance.

Yeah, but none of the fouls were too egregious. Lot of ticky tack stuff and one on the perimeter after getting shaken by a guard and taking the foul instead of giving up an easy path to the basket. I'll take smart fouls over Thon Maker-style sloppy fouls.

So pissed that we didn’t take Proctor. He’s big enough to guard on the wing too

Actually really liked what I have seen from Bogi after the first game. He plays a style of basketball that is not going to be showy in Summer League. He is consistent on switching and boxing out. He is setting good picks. He is passing out if he thinks the option is better. Non-selfish, team, basketball is something that projects well to actually playing but does not project well to a roster of guys trying to catch on with other rosters. Still needs some strength training, but I already like what I am seeing out of him on the court.

He picked up some fouls today, but man foul calls at Summer League are so terrible. I don't know if he needs to go to Europe or if he would be better served playing around a team looking to make his unique frame work in a team setting.

Smith finally put up a game where he showed he can hit from 3, but I hoped he would dominate more in his 2nd Summer League. He got plenty of minutes and shots and very rarely presented himself as someone who wants to play as a big. He might just be too slight to be a true PF in the league.

The fouls talk reminded me of an AAU tournament we were at just the other day. The refs were NCAA refs in training and my God did they call every foul under the sun. Parents were furious. You never know what to expect at an AAU tournament lol.

Back to the Bucks, I feel like Larry Sanders had like 8 fouls in a summer league game one time. I also remember him shooting 3’s or at the very least deep twos.

Larry was awful in summer league the same season he broke out, I believe. Glad Smith finally had a good game. Think it's important to remember he's only 8 months older than Bogoljub.

Yeah Bogi is nice, but Proctor might be this years Jared McCain.

PPGZ!!!??!!??!

(I’m just kidding. I actually think scoring points is very important in basketball. But I’ve always wanted to do that.)

Proctor was a no brainer for this team at that slot. This will be my new Brook over Potsie, Sabonis over Thon jag quite possibly. We’ll see.

Horst is generally averse to doing the sensible, logical thing in the draft. The one time he did he landed Donte. You can have a guy who's ready soon & likely good OR you can have the guy who is not ready now & probably won't be good. Outside of AJ Johnson, they don't even have high upside.

I can't say Smith played a good game, he only shot the 3 well. Didn't finish at the hoop, he got bounced around on the glass as usual, and didn't record an assist, steal, or block. His fouls were unnecessary, he just needed to wall up, but didn't react quick enough. He's slow processing the game.

The positive with him that's new is he can finally bend his knees, sink his hips, and straighten his back, allowing him better lateral movement. Now there's a path for him as a 3/4 floor spacer forward, but he really needs improvement everywhere else to make any kind of impact. I'm not sure the project is worth the return

Would have been fine with the Proctor pick, but he was only shooting 36% from the field and 29% from 3 in SL prior to last night.

Yeah the shooting is paramount for Proctor, because he doesn't beat anyone off the dribble. Like McCain, everything is 2 dribble pull-ups. Has he developed into that level of shooter? McCain had a longer track record of shooting success.

I still have faith in Joe Alexander, he’ll turn it around.
