Been playing Ultima Online - Tides of Power on a 5 month old server. Been a blast going back in time to the first MMORPG. Still one of the best. Crazy how much they got right the first time. And how much has yet to be replicated.

Cannot love this enough. I was obsessed with UO:R and have always wanted to go back, but all of the servers I found were hardcore PVP which isn't my deal. It looks like this one is not just primarily PVP, but 100% Felucca. How does it play?

UO was great but I wonder how much of a hellscape it would be as it feels like modern gamers have gotten a lot more toxic. At least UO had a form of punishment, but people would probably work around it or even exploit it.

Exactly why I've always stayed away  There were a handful of ruffians back in the day but, like you said, I can just imagine the utter hellscape it would be now.

So, basically there is one very active PK guild and everybody else hates them.

My buddy and I joined a great group of knowledgeable and helpful dudes who never really stopped playing.

It has become Macro heavy, but that's good and bad.

Everybody is allowed two accounts (free), so 10 characters and two houses.

Many of the skills can be macro'ed. The server GMs really do their best to prevent combat cheesiness, though some of that is a fine line based on perception.

We tried UOSA server first. The same PK guild more or less runs that server as they are able to use a "tracking bot network" which is lame as ****.

UO Tides of Power has been very refreshing. They reduced the map size, so even though the population isn't massive, it's appropriate for the playing field.

Really great experience.

Let me know if anyone wants in and I can help with some links/discord.

Anyone care to explain the status of PoE vs PoE 2? I guess I’m looking at you MikeIsGood

I probably last played PoE 2 in February and then I haven’t been paying close attention. I guess I’m surprised that I haven’t seen any big news related to PoE 2 from the people I follow on Twitter.

Did the momentum just die? I know it’s early access but GGG kinda botch the rollout?

TLDR they are now on 4-month update cycles for each game, alternating two months. So POE1 <2months> POE2 <2months> POE1 <2months>... etc. We're about 5 weeks into POE1's latest update so I'd expect you hear about the next POE2 league any day now.

POE2's 0.3 patch is already set for August 29th. So yeah, details any day.

They did a fantastic job. Hopefully, the studio can expand and do a follow up that isn't too ambitious and just builds on what they created.

Think I’m done with Odyssey. Somehow ended up with the best of the nine possible endings, finished the modern day quest line, and finished a couple add-on quest lines. Almost three months and 90 hours later, I’m good.

Amazing game. I’ve been burned out on the Ubisoft formula for a long time but this one never had me bored for a minute. If you’ve got Game Pass and are looking for an extremely impressive time suck, it gets two thumbs up. Wonderful family fun.

Time for Wuchang.

Finished Act I of Clair Obscur today and have been enjoying Donkey Kong but I also just beat Blue Prince, and for me that is the game of the year so far. Once you get the hang of it and start unlocking secrets there are so many "oh ****" moments where a lightbulb goes off or you unlock something big. The whole family actually ended up going through it with me as they watched me play the first few rounds and got sucked in. Now we all want to keep going to see how many secrets we can discover.
