I thought it was hilarious that he was even on the poll to begin with.

We can always pursue a Brendan Haywood or Pryzzbilla if they fall out of favor in their town.

I've been repeating the "I wonder if we can swing a Kwame for Caron type trade for Bogut" line for a few weeks now... are there any teams out there that might make a deal like that?

Off the top of my head here are some young 3s:

Deng
Gay
Josh Smith (tweener)
Iggy
Marvin Williams
Granger

Deng, Gay and Smith are all very unlikely to be traded for Bogut but are all deals I'd do without hesitation.

You are not just moderator but also respected poster from what I heard. If you think that is it posible that other Bulls fans think that as well? I am Bogut fan but your GM didn't want to trade Deng for Garnet. I don't see any way he trade him for Bogut.

Here's what we know about some trades:

Paxson tried every year to pry Garnett from Minnesota. He was always told that KG is not available. 2 years ago he offered Tyson Chandler, Deng & the the #2 pick in the draft. That offer was refused.
Last off season, Paxson admits he did try to get KG & feels that his offer was better than that of Boston's. However, he cant name the players since all are still on the Bulls.

That certainly does not sound like anyone who REFUSED to trade Deng for KG. The opposite seems closer to the truth.

With Kobe, Paxson said he contacted Mitch Kupcake but was told flat out that Kobe will not be traded. So, no deals were ever discussed. The media went off & created all sorts of trades - including Kobe insisting on playing with Deng.

As for Gasol, Paxson said that Jerry west demanded Deng & "significantly more". West's asking price was so high that a trade was never discussed for more than 5 minutes. Now, Paxson did not say what else was demanded in addition to Deng - again, because those players would still be on Bulls. Paxson sounded like he had no problem in trading just Deng - but he wasnt going to gut his team to get Gasol.

Paxson answers trade questions honestly. He admits trying hard to get KG. He admits interest in Kobe. In fact Bulls did reach an agreement with Kobe before Kobe re-signed with LAL. However, the Bulls didnt have the cap space to sign him outright & LA refused to trade him. So Kobe re-signed with LA

The only deal that the refusal was Paxson's involved Gasol, and the price certainly seems excessive

Recent rumor: There are threads on both Bulls & Cavs Boards about a recent trade offer. Cleve offered Gooden & Hughes for Wallace & Hinrich. Paxson DID turn that one down.

Bulls6, I am guessing its safe to say you are probably in the minority of Bulls fans who would consider a Bogut for Deng swap?

I'd certainly do that deal as a Bucks fan if it was on the table and I'm guessing there are a decent number of people here who would agree with me.

Yes, that would be safe to say..... many will object because they like Deng. However, if that offer was on the table, I feel Paxson would do it.

Good C's are hard to find. So what if ours isn't great.

He will never be great if we have inept offensive sets that have him continually playing on the free throw line or higher. It's a fricken joke the way we use Bogut.

I definitely don't want to imply that Bogut can never be anything more than he is now. He seems like a pretty good candidate for something like, "oh, now that I've been traded I have motivation to take it hard to the rack every other time instead of every 10th."

But we could be making these same justifications for him in two years while seeing the exact same production. He'll still only be 25 at the time. I just think with the lack of evident talent on the team at times this year and the way they're playing right now, his own should be shining through a little more, and it's no less than half his fault that it's not.

I do want to hear some justification from the Ersan voters too. :) Do you two see him as a great complement to Bogut and Yi or something like that, or is it more a statement on how we wouldn't really miss any of these losers?

i voted for cv,
He seems like a guy who would blow up for a few months when he is motivated, he will get his stats (still play bad d) but we will see have a few 20-10 and think we got screwed.

it would be a preception vs reality thing

redd is the only one i wouldn't regret trading simply because we'd get good value for a redd trade - we'd hopefully get an all-star in return. a bogut or yi trade at this point in their careers wouldn't bring in as much. so if those guys ever became all-stars and all we got was a bunch of scrubs in the trade, we'd regret it.
