Another Redd trade idea

Post#1 » by smalls » Wed Jan 9, 2008 2:48 pm

ok i should preface this by sayin i still think we should stand pat and give this group more time as frustrating as it has been but this organization has just had way too much turnover in personel and coaching the last 6 years to build any quality/consistency.

But anyways if we are gonna make a big trade lets at least do it big and right so here we go:

Milwaukee gets:
Dwayne wade and filler

Miami gets:
Redd
Yi
future lottery protected 1st

Milwaukee gets a true superstar who has strong ties to the state that might help the franchise take the next step

Miaimi gets a star in redd and a marketing dream in YI who has the sky as his limit in terms of potential and a good core group in order to build around in the post shaq era

As good a D Wade would look in a Bucks uni, i don't see him or Yi being available for a very long time. He's their franchise, particularly with Shaq rapidly approaching the end. I also can't see the bucks including Yi in any deal until they've given him every opportunity to prove himself. As great a marketing coup as D Wade would be, Yi brings all of china, and from a front office point of view that would be hard to give up imo. Even if D Wade was available i don't see Yi going the other way.

Even if Dwade were available, he's got serious long-term injury issues....The Bucks medical staff pre-draft labeled him a major risk because of his knees.

The parallels with Sidney Moncrief are all right there...incredible player for about six-seasons before the drop-off came and Sid started missing games with knee problems.

This is the heat deal, that riley would do for a chance to win now by pairing redd and dwade in the backcourt, while the bucks could instantly get their rebuilding process underway and clear the way for a new gm over the summer to rebuild the squad.

redd
CV
simmons
Gadz

to the heat for:

udonis haslem
ricky davis (expiring)
jayson williams (expiring)
dorrel wright
mark blount
alonzo mourning (expiring)
their 2008 lotto pick

Basically the bucks clear the horrible simmons contract, dump redds huge deal, bring back a shorter version of gadz contract with blount, and pick up the backup big man they need alongside bogut and yi with haslem.

Then they can pay jayson williams, ricky davis, and zo to sit out the rest of the year or come off the bench and use their two draft picks to start reshaping their team during the offseason. They can also evaluate Dorrel Wright's potential to see if he could be their athletic three that they've been looking for. Plus the backcourt defense improves dramatically with bell inserted at the two guard.

Bucks to finish the year:

Mo Williams/Ivey/J. Williams
Bell/Davis
Dorrel Wright/Davis
Yi/Haslem
Bogut/Blount

Then add one and possibly two lotto picks and you have a some nice options for a new gm entering the mix next season to build around mo/yi/bogut with solid defense and team play

I think I'd still rather have Zo come off the bench for the Bucks than White Chocolate. This would be a good deal, though. I'd rather unload bad contracts than pick up a maxed Wade that won't be able to play his style of basketball for more than a couple more years.

I apologize for not being fully aware of what Bucks fans are thinking these days. More specifically how you feel about your future with Redd and Bogut. With that being mentioned here are a couple trades ideas from a Suns fan.

The Suns are still good, but falling back into the pack, mostly because the interior defense is as weak as ever, and Raja Bell is hobbled/aging.

PHX sends to MIL-

Marion, Barbosa, Tucker and Atlanta's 2008 1st rd pick

MIL sends to PHX-

Redd, Bogut

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

The Bucks would want to at least have Marion waive is opt out and might need him to sign an extension. That might be a big problem, so here it is with a 3rd team...

PHX sends Milwaukee-

Barbosa, Tucker and Atlanta's 2008 1st rd pick

PHX sends NY-

Marion

MIL sends PHX-

Redd, Bogut

NY sends MIL-

Zach Randolph

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

Boiled down to the Milwaukee point of view, it's basically Redd for Barbosa (ya lose something there) and Bogut for Randolph, Tucker and ATL's pick (but maybe? get it all back here and then some).

Whadya think folks?

The Heat cannot trade away their 2008 1st rounder. If it's not a lottery pick it goes to Minnesota, and until it's clear whether they get to keep the pick they can't trade it.

And I really doubt anyone here wants Randolph on this team, he's too much of a black hole.

I want nothing to do with Z-Bo. I'd much rather keep Bogut around.

I appreciate you admitting your ignorance. Admission is the first step.

Redd for Barbosa?

We have a Barbosa clone name Mo Williams already

Bogut for Randolph?

Are you serious?

Really?

Horrible, horrible. I should kick you in the shins.......

Well, I thought maybe the Bucks would consider Alando Tucker and Atlanta's 1st round pick to be decent commodities. But if Bogut for Randolph,Tucker and Atlanta's pick is that horrible, I'll admit I really guessed wrong here.

Actually I think Mr. AZ could be partially correct, I can see a Redd for Marion and any filler that needs to be added but not the rest of that deal. With redd you are more then likely going to get a bunch of average guys with some expiring contracts or another teams very good vet who would benefit from a change of scenery. I think The Bucks would be searching for a quality vet with a more favorable contract, and that sounds like Marion.

Well, look at what Randolph recently garnered in a trade. Steve Francis. Who the Blazers bought out. So basically the Blazers paid him to stay away from their franchise so as to not poison him.

He is not anywhere close to deserving that max contract.

To trade him for Bogut, a #1 pick, even though somewhat disappointing in some people eyes, he's still a guy we believe we can build a team around.

Some in here would give Bogut for Pau Gasol, some would not.

Maybe thats helps you to understand how we view his value.

Is the Marion(with signed extension), Barbosa, Tucker and the ATL 1st rd pick for Redd and Bogut trade idea just plain stupid too?

Expecting more vitriol
