Gonna go out on a limb and say that the backcourt wasn't the reason why the Mavericks got to the Finals

Stackhouse was paired more with them then they were together, is my recollection....but you bring up a point.

I'd prefer other deals but this one I might gamble on....I think Artest is crazy and like Ruben in many ways....but he is a top 15 talent when in the right situation......

Salmons can give you firepower at the SG or SF spots and his contract is a bargain.

Yes, yes... and yes again. But the key is whether Artest would consider Milwaukee 'the right situation'.

I posted some Hinrich/Redd trades a few weeks back. I actually think that a Mo/Hinrich back court could work pretty well. Hinrich's certianly capable of defending the 2 spot. What about:

Michael Redd and CV for Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas (or Noah), Thabo and filler (Griffin and Khryapa work)

Works on the trade checker. We don't get a star but we get a defensive minded combo guard to pair with Mo in our back court. Now we've got a lot less money invested there (Kirk's contract is also front loaded). We swap CV for a prospect whose potential is mostly on the defensive side of the ball and arguably complements our team better.

Anyone like it?

I hate Noah! I don't irrationally hate many people but I do him.

I like anything with the Bulls where we get one of their top three players and then another of their top 7 players back.

Redd/CV for Hinrich/Noah/Thabo works fine....I'd prefer Noah over Tyrus Thomas actually....

Luke...I still can't see Atlanta making sense from the Hawks perspective. Horford is untouchable. Dale Davis was a good player but not an 11/11 guy right out of the blocks like Horford. The bigger issue is salary. They already have Joe Johnson playing Redd's spot and making max. Josh Smith will be getting $12mm+ next year....they can't afford to take on Redd's $16mm next season.

I fail to see how this makes sense for the Bulls. They lose their PG and add a second high scoring SG that doesn't play defense. Sure they would still have Duhon, but he's not starter material.

I see zero need for Redd with the Hawks. They already have a very good and expensive SG, why add a second one?
