I know we played bottom of the league teams, but we played way better then them without Redd. Ill be honest I love Redd, but the way this season has gone so far and how the team played so bad together, and now watching a team that plays as good as it gets together makes me really think that Redd is to blame.
After the big losing streak this season where it all wen't down hill from there I could not stand watching more then a quarter of this team playing, the team just made me sick to my stomach. Watching this team play with Redd out was 10xs better and I have not missed a minute yet. With a player the caliber of Redd this team should be at another level then what we seen the last week, but thats not the case. Obviously Redd does not fit in, and players like Bell, Simmons even CV it seems don't get enough touchs or involved enough and then we really suffer.
Also Redd is not the leader of the team, its so obvious that Mo is and I think all the players want Mo to be the guy. I also think the reason Mo and Redd don't play well together bc Redd wants to be the guy, and everyone on the team wants Mo to be the guy. Honestly if we can get a solid trade for Redd I hope the Bucks jump on it.
With Redd gone Mo leads the way and everyone is involved and they play team ball. I like the ball in Mo's hand then Redds hand I feel like when Redd has the ball players kinda stand around and don't expect to get the ball, so they don't get involved enough. If the Bucks traded Redd you got to relize we are gonna get good players in the trade so the team will be better then it has been with Redd out.

That is reverse physchology in saying what youSimulack wrote:Anyone else find it surprising that you actually have Paschke/Johnny Mac, LK and players like Bogut ALL talking publicly about how Redd will "fit in" when he comes back?
If there wasn't an obvious problem with Redd, this wouldn't even be coming up.
want or need or even demand better happpen, but saying that it will.
In essence that is speaking through your teeth and saying 'he will fit' in that is translated 'he had better come back and fit in.'
And there are power in numbers so the onus is on Redd. If there was no issue they would not go out their way to say 'he will fit in.' How do they know he will?
HE HAS NOT SINCE HE RESIGNED THAT DEAL...Redd might try to after 3-5 games tops and revert back to the same thing after a loss. Who knows.
I say you need to make a team culture change and make a move...I told all of you what my first move would be. But it might have to be a three way deal to get who we need...

If one more poster says this I am gonna climb through this screen and....uuuuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhh! You and CBQpaul wrote:I don't think it means anything, but it will be a good way to ease him into the newly found 'team ball'. If he starts it would be easy to forget he was ever gone and go back to old habits, this makes him more of a roll player. As I said though I don't think that's the reason they are doing it, purely to help him ease back into it after injury I suspect.
It's a big if, but IF Redd can work into the team ball inside out thing we've got going the bucks can be very competitive with most teams imo.
One things for sure though, we'd be in trouble on this road trip without our best player.
need to wake up.
We were 'in trouble' before Redd got hurt people!!! With Redd playing we were on a losing streak of 12 out of 14 or so!
What do you mean we are in trouble on this west coast trip without our best player? We were losing to lesser teams before he went down for a month!
The teams the Bucks beat without Redd, the Sixers, the Bobcats, and the Heat, we had lost with Redd two weeks ago when he was healthy!
Now a week later we beat those very teams barely...

Kukoc: I only wish he had two more years in him. Bogut (and Gadz) would've benefitted greatly.
That was a fun game to play tonight.
"How long ago would you guess he played for the Bucks?"
"I don't know, he's not that old."
"Year before last?"
"Whaat??"
Edit: Yeah it would've been funny if he said something like, "yes, it was nice to have much more and successful playing time in Atlanta than earlier that year in Philadelphia. Although I regretted not being there to help defeat you in the finals. I am also proud to be the best thing you got back for the Big 3."

And we curb stomped their asses too...
As far as Redd goes, this is what I would do..
You leave for the west coast on the 10th.. Lets say you leave at 3pm, but you tell Mike that the flight is at 4pm...
The rest of the team boards the plane and takes off... Redd arrives an hour late, and contacts the team... The team tells Mike it was their error, and since it was their error no fine will be handed out...
When Mike says he'll catch a flight to LA, you tell him that you would NEVER let a player of his caliber take a commercial flight... The Bucks will send their team plane back for him...
Then of course never send the team plane back... Change the cell numbers, change the locks at the bradley center, and never have contact with him ever again..
Amazing just happened !
Angling for a throwback Lebron&Redd_05 avatar?

I pray he never ends up in Cleveland.

I'm not sure I agree. Comments like that are made all the time when a team's top player is hurt in any sport and the team finds a way to win without him. There's always the "how will he fit in?" talk and discussion. I heard it in Houston last season when Yao was out and McGrady was carrying the team, for example.
That said, I do think the comments in this case reflect an issue with Redd. Whether it's right or not is open to debate. For example, if his teammates think Redd is shooting too much, perhaps they should talk to Krystkowiak since the ball goes where the head coach wants it to go or perhaps they should look at the stats and they'll notice Redd is taking fewer shots than he ever has as a starter. Better yet, they can look in the mirror and ask themselves if they have done enough when Redd was healthy to help this team win.
I thought McGlocklin made a great point about that last night. He talked about how the only two players who have provided consistent scoring have been Redd and Mo (Bogut to a lesser degree). That's it. So as McGlocklin said, Redd had to shoot because nobody else was playing well.
The hope would be that now that some of the players seem to be righting their games (notably Bell and Simmons - Villanueva was awful again last night), that will take less of the burden off Redd and the team will be better because of it. Whether these players can continue to play at a higher level against good teams as opposed to the lousy ones is another question but at least we're seeing signs that a couple of the key bench players are turning their games around. That's been by far the biggest problem on this team all season long and it often put the Bucks in a position where Redd had to try and score because no one else (other than Mo) was capable. That's not something that should be blamed on Redd (though it clearly has been).
So let's hope Bell and Simmons continue to play better and let's hope that allows Redd to get back to the level of play that marked his first section of the season. That will make the team better. Much better.

I don't absolve the bench players.
But it seems like this team is more focused out there without Redd in. Guys are moving and looking for opportunities with confidence knowing they won't be pulled.
Mo is also doing better as "combo" guard which to me is a really good thing. I'd rather have really high level combo guard play from him than slightly above average PG play. It helps that Ivey can take some of the PG load at times, especially on defense. I'm not sure where Ivey's role is when Redd comes back.

And if these things continue and you now add your team's best player to the mix that has the potential for this team to start playing much better. A lot of that is on Redd to stay within the "team ball" parameters we've seen of late. But a lot of that is also on the rest of the team to play better as well. It's a two-way street.

Mo's already playing.
The question has become, can Redd be a Mo quality player?
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Great Comment! Yes. Thank you.
I'll say it again: Keep Ivey starting point and Mo starting shooting guard (he's better there offensively and defensively) Redd should start the 3 when he's healthy and be more of a decoy, shooter, scorer like he was (and mike miller) for team USA. Mo should handle the ball and run the pick and roll while Ivey and Redd spot up and make cuts for inside outside action. Simmons, the Charlies, and my guy Ruffin (reminds me of .. me) off the bench for more hustle and defense. Let's do it!!

I really like the idea of bringing Redd off the bench. If we get off to a slow start hopefully he can give us some offense and get others involved against their second unit. I just hope he plays team ball because if I see him come in and start chucking up turn around fadeaways with Kobe's hand in his face I am gonna puke
