Last 51 seconds of Hawks-Heat to be replayed....

After this, I wonder if David Stern would consider replaying all those other games that Shaq DID foul out of the last 15-years but were never noted by the refs..... :)

I want to know how they didn't let Toronto replay the end of the game where they simply didn't credit TJ with a bucket. Thats ridiculous.

Stern at work.

TJ, Bosh, Sam Mitchell.

Wade, Shaq, Riley.

Who got the game replay? You decide.

The funny part is that the Heat will try to tank that 51 seconds.

Why bother? The Heat lost that game and with their record now I doubt they'll try to win it.

I had LA on my brain, thinking of those 158 Laker games from 1996-2004 where the endings now need to be replayed without Shaq....those ones where he had fouled out much earlier but the refs and scorers allowed him to stay in the game........

I'd like to replay some of this year's Bucks games in which the refs missed or botched calls at the end of the game.

Wow this is the dumbest thing I ever seen. How about the NBA lets the Bucks replay half of there last minutes of there games this season where the refs made horrible calls that gave the game away.

Like that double out-of-bounds on Lebron, unfortunately they couldn't blame that on the scorer though.

Good thing Stern got this situation off his plate so he can resume working on that Donaghy investigation he's been so busy with.

Stupid, especially considering Shaq may not be healthy to play this anyways

The real question is, "Will he have time to help OJ catch the real killer?"

Seriously, everyone does it.

Say what you will about the officials, but this replay had absolutely nothing to do with the game officials (referees to clarify). The Hawks had a competitive advantage when the scorers didn't verify how many fouls Shaq indeed had and noted he fouled out when he did not.

If it was Dan Gadzuric whom the referees had accidentally kicked out, they would not replay the game. That's all I need to say.

Wow, I would be pissed if I was a hawks fan. The NBA has no right to do this, even if it was a big mistake. There have been a lot of huge mistakes by referees and scorekeepers, and games have never been replayed. Now this is going to set a precedent that whenever an official messes up a call, a team will demand to replay the last minute of the game. It's ridiculous.

what?

yeah, these happen all the time, despite the fact that this is the first time it's happened in my lifetime. there's a big difference between a bad call and this.

i can't believe people are upset that a major error is being corrected

It's not a call that is being disputed therefore no precedent. The scorekeeper supplied by the hometeam is the issue. Their mistake, and that's all it was, gave their own team a competitive advantage. The NBA also didn't review it independantly and rule on it, Miami disputed the game result due to the error. A game would not be replayed over an officials call, wrong, right or a non-call. Had the scorekeepers realized their error during the game the situation would have been fixed immediately thus eliminating the need for a replay.
However, the replay won't mean anything to Miami, so it is a mute point.

What does Vegas do with this game? Is the point spread affected. I am sure they paid out already, but does anyone have any idea what happens on the betting for this game.
