For me the Pacers trade is a slam dunk....because we get three guys who can contribute and we need that. Then let Bogut, Yi and Granger grow together and see what we have in two years.

Slam dunk? No way. We are taking a bad contract back, and we have to give up CV. I would love to have Granger though.

if that indy trade were to happen we would have to hope that Mo could turn into a pass first pg otherwise he would have to go as well because i feel that Bogut-Yi-Granger could turn into a nice 1-2-3 scoring combination then would could start Bell and Ivey to help with the D i believe we would be pretty soild then but obviously a trade like that is highly unlikely to happen.

If mo was to be traded being that this trade happens do you see a package starting w. Mo for Hinrich being able to generate something??

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Milwaukee and Portland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Milwaukee and Portland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Where's the ball going to come from for the three Pacer guys to be successful? It'd mean Bogut, Mo etc would have even less of the ball than they do with Redd.

Here's where I'd like the Pacers trade. We need a legit small forward. I'd probably trade Redd for Granger even up. Granger is a nice player. I don't think he'll ever be a superstar like some Pacer fans think, but a guy you can win with.

Troy Murphy is your backup C/PF. But he's a LEGIT NBA player. If Yi's going bad, you can even start him. If Bogut's having problems, Murph can space the floor with a solid jumpshot.

Marquis Daniels.....I don't think he's that good. But he's a big guard. Maybe he could add something....not sure.

I don't see any of those three players as needing tons of shots like Redd.....I think they would help our remaining core of Bogut, Yi and Mo. Part of the problem people have had the last two years is our inability to put solid NBA players on the court. This would fill that gap.

The contracts aren't that bad. If the Pacers think this is realistic, I'd be up for this.

I don't think it's good enough to just get a SF for Redd, if we end up starting Ivey and Mo along with an SF who's not as good as Redd, we're even further from contention. Now I'd probably do that for AK47, but not for Granger. Otherwise we should try to get a real point guard.

I guess the bright side of trading Redd for a lot less talent could be hopefully this could become Mo and Bogut's team that Yi could grow into. But none of us know enough or see the future enough to count on "winning" a trade where we get less talent back for our by far best player.

Redd + CV to Minnesota for Craig Smith, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff (expiring contract) and 1st rounder.

Possible benefits:

Gerald Green is still very young and can play SG/SF, Craig Smith is as honset as the day is long and would be a very nice back up at forward and centre, Ratliffs contract is expiring at the end of the year so would free up a fair bit of room for some nice free agents that are out there (Josh Smith anyone) and a 1st round pick where we could possibly pick up our future pg.

08/09 line-up

Mo/Sessions
Green/Bell
J.Smith/Bobby (he'll be good to go next year)
YI/C.Smith
Bogut/C.Smith

I have always liked Granger alot, do you guys have issues with him? If so, I am curious as to what they would be.

The only problem that I have with him is that there are times when he isn't as aggressive as he should be considering that he's the 1st/2nd scoring option on the team. However, many of us think that this is because he defers to JONeal ( likely out of respect for him ) whenever they are on the floor together.

He has ZERO problems taking the shot whenever JONeal is out. As of late...he has had no problem with that...he has been aggressive on the offensive end.

Other then that....there is no other issues that I have with him....no off-the-court issues....nothing.

he's the 1st/2nd scoring option on the team.

He has ZERO problems taking the shot whenever JONeal is out.

That's sort of where my problem with trading for him lies. He's good though, a massive upgrade over Simmons. Not so massive upgrade over Redd.

You are correct in that assesment. My opinion of Granger isn't as high as other Pacer fans. He's a solid building block for the future....but not exactly a player that you would want to lead a team. Granger IMHO....at worst...will be a solid SF for the future.....at best...a borderline All-Star SF.

If you are looking for a player to fit alongside with Yi and Bogut....Granger would be a solid fit.
