Any way that we won't see a major move soon?

Kwame makes $9mm. Odom makes $13mm. That is a ton of salary going out.....we'd have to load up Mo, Gadz, CV and Simmons to pull that off.

But I like the thinking since the Lakers are a team that might be talked into giving up something like that to get Redd or Mo as an offensive piece for a playoff run.

I'm telling ya PP, the Lakers are set once Bynum and Ariza come back.

I bet we'd trade Redd in the right Odom trade, as long as we'd be able to dump Gadz or Simmons for Kwame. Kwame's been bad, but I bet he could help our defense out a ton off the bench.

I'd also really like to get some of their ancillary players like Jordan Farmar or Trevor Ariza on our team too.

I keep saying that we have to lie in wait until a superstar publicly asks to be traded. Then we throw in a middling offer (hopefully keeping at least 2 of Mo, Redd, and Bogut) and hope that the other team takes the bait.

If we are the ones looking desperate we're gonna get screwed.

Redd and Simmons for Odom-1 year left, and Kwame-expiring is a good trade for both teams I think

I certainly wouldn't be dancing in the streets or bestowing a bunch of praise on Hammond though.
It's like taking three huge dumps on your kitchen floor, then cleaning up one of them.

As good as Odom is and as multi-talented as he is if, if the Lakers were to get Redd they would be a Finals contender automatically. With Bynum they may or may not be, but with Redd there's no question and Laker fans would love Michael Redd and I think Redd wouldn't mind deferring to Kobe.

The real question is why on Earth would the Bucks do this trade. Contrary to what us on the forum think if Redd were traded attendance would take an even bigger tumble than this current losing season. The Yi factor will be irrelevant until they start winning, and if he makes the all-star game next year and the Bucks suck, we'll have to face the wrath of possibly every NBA fan.

I'm really starting to like the Odom scenario for us, especially if we can dump gadz or simmons onto them for Kwame.

I dont think Odom was ever a good fit alongside Kobe since both are at their best when they're the facilitators on offense. Lakers fans dont' think he's lost any athleticism, and if the Bucks think he can get back remotely close to what he was like in Miami then this is an easy decision for us to make.

Even Kwame would help us out a whole lot, as his defense is infinitely ahead of CV/Voshkul/Gadz. I also think we could entice the Lakers to give us a minor player like Trevor Ariza who could also hlep our depth at the swing positions.
