Sigra. I do not like people who cut down the US educational system- especially our colleges and universities of which Purdue University is one of them. I also don't like people who abreviate abreviations. it bothers me that USC is now commonly refered to as just SC. pretty soon it will be known as just C. That's what global warming has done to our Southern Californian bretheran. That irritates me - almost to the point of wanting to correct your grammer and spelling. Because, without US colleges and universities - such as Purdue University, there would be no Orville Reddinbocker popcorn(his popcorn research was accomplished by Purdue agriculture major students with free samples given out daily). And without other fine US colleges and universities, major corporations such as Anheiser Busch and Miller Brewing would go out of business. Nobody wants to watch the brewers play at Johnson Wax Park where the air is fresh with a hint of lemony fresh pine.

I am sad to say I do not share your enthusiasm for Bogut.

I've watched basketball games involving students from 3rd grade through college and I've watched pro NBA games since the days when Wayne Embry played center for the Bucks. I watched the Big Dog, Eugene Parker (Noted sports agent - lousy college point guard ) and Joe Barry Carrol play at Purdue. At all of those levels, there was always some player who was good and was double teamed. Coaches drew up plans to double team the other team's star player. Coaches also drew up plans on how to play games when their star player was being double teamed. it was said of Greg Oden that he was double and triple teamed in every high school game starting his sophmore year. In some games, he was quadruple teamed. Yet he still found a way to dominate the game, and his team won three consecutive state championships in the heartland of Indiana basketball country. Good players find a way to beat the double team. Good coaches find a way to design plays to defeat the double team. It's not as if the NBA just started double teaming players this year and no coach knows what to do. Double teaming good players has been around since the invention of the game and the apple basket.

My heartburn with bogut is that he has never excelled in the NBA when double teamed. When double teamed, he refuses to play agressive and he usually passes the ball away to somebody else. I would be OK with Bogut passing the ball away if the Bucks were winning games as a result of his non-aggressive behavior. But the reality is - the Bucks need Bogut to get agressive and fight off the double teams! the Bucks need Bogut to stop passing the ball and start forcing his way to the basket and dunking the ball in people's faces. The Bucks need Bogut to get angry and take out his madness on his opponents rather than whine and complain to the press. being such a nice guy on the court and passing to the open man all the time is what is losing us games.

if Bogut wants to be a star and if he wants this to be his team, he has to develop a little selfishness and also leadership. he needs to be more like Kobe! he has to want the ball in stretch time, and he also has to be the guy to take that last shot and also make it. That is what made Walton and kareem and jordan so good! if the game was on the line with 10 seconds left, their teammates knew if they passed the ball to kareem or jordan or Walton, they could take the ball and score- no matter how many defenders were in their way. The other teams knew this as well, but couldn't prevent them from making the shot. Bogut used to be like that at Utah. but he has never showed any desire to do that at the NBA level. I'm sad to say this, but bogut has become the second coming of Joe Barry Carrol, Joe Smith, and Kent Benson - all former #1 overall picks. none were great players. all of them did play in the NBA for about 10 years based on their supposed talent.
