Like I said, enjoy it now - especially the Cavs. ;)
I know what you're saying, Europa.. But, it's just much more difficult to build around these perimeter players as opposed to interior players...

Miami is lacking a lot...Can they get into the playoffs in the future ?? Absolutely... You have to be pretty damn pathetic not to make the playoffs in the east...But that team is not going anywhere for awhile in terms of success..Unless of course they can get an Elton Brand type of player with a semi-decent PG along the ride...

Perhaps they should consider packaging their pick with a package to get a proven commodity and maybe another player..

It wouldn't surprise me if they did that. I just think they're sitting in a great spot now. They've added a big-time talent to join Wade; I like Wright's potential and they have the ability to sign free agents if need be. Plus, they have someone like Haslem who could bring them a solid role player at a position of need if they choose to move him. I think they're in very good shape and depending on what happens in the summer they could be poised to make a strong return to contending status in the East. They're down for the count now but I don't expect them to stay on the floor very much longer.
Nothing will not break me.

I'm still not that impressed with Miami.

I am personally of the opinion that Wade is past his prime as a player already. The injuries are already piling on and it's only going to get worse for him.

Shawn Marion will be 30 next year and get a major deal, I also have serious doubts about him being the same type of player in 2-3 years from now.

Not to mention Miami has pretty much nothing besides those two. If they get a Derrick Rose to run and gun with those two or another major player in the draft they could be very scary.

They are like a D-league team with two NBA all-stars slapped onto it. No PG, no big men... They have a long way to go.

Wade's body being able to hold up given the reckless abandon he plays with would be a bigger concern for me than all the other concerns you posted combined.

The NBA is generally far more based on high end talent for teams to win. Look at the Celtics, they put three very good players together and then went shopping on the scrap heap for spare parts.

If Wade's body can hold up and they traded say their lotto pick for a Brand or some other very good/not to old player, they instantly could become a top 4ish team in the East if Riley was smart in adding solid role players.

Well since like you say they need a big man and/or PG then they should use that pick on Derrick Rose or Beasley. If they get on a mini streak here and miss out on one of the top 3 picks, then I would consider trading the pick. But there are a few decent Centers coming out this year.

Watching this game just depressed me that we don't have a player like Marion. Or, better yet, Marion himself.

I've obviously seen Marion before, but now that he's somewhere else it brings the jealousy back to life.

Perhaps, but Riley isn't a patient man... In most cases draft picks take time to develop..Not sure if that mixes in Miami..

I mentioned Brand because he's someone who can step in right away and produce.. I just personally think they're a a little thin in terms of contributers.. Especially if they're going to compete long term for championships..

Derrick Rose should really start buying some Heat gear.

Do you still think the Heat can make the playoffs?

Dorell Wright is starting to play very well. One of my favorite young players. He'll be back with the Heat, next year. Cook has shot the ball very well for a rook. Banks is better than alot of people think. What is killing them is Mark Blount at center.

I wouldn't be surprised if Riley tries to swing a Williams/Davis for Ben Wallace/Duhon deal, before the deadline.

For the millionth frickin' time, the Heat don't want Redd they want Mo and are willing to take Simmons to get him. Furthermore they would probably even be willing to take Gadz for Haslem in the deal as well because Marion is a huge upgrade over Haslem at pf and the Heat really need a pg like Mo.

And under no circumstances should the Bucks have to include CV in any Mo-to-Miami deal, even if getting Haslem means they will have 3 pf's (they can trade CV to someone else).

So you are proposing Mo/Gadz for Haslem?

I'd do that deal....I'd like Jason Wiliams also coming back this way since he's an expiring and he may also be able to be our stopgap PG.

I proposed this in the Haslem thread actually so I'm sure that will be locked at some point, but I'm basically proposing that the Heat want Mo and might be willing to take some bad contracts and give up Haslem in order to make that happen. They might get a better offer before the deadline because other teams are probably eyeing the big expiring contracts (Davis and J-Will) but in the 11th hour I could see the Bucks and Heat getting into serious discussions.

The specific trade I'm proposing is Mo/Simmons/Gadz for J-Will/Davis/Haslem. It's a pretty good deal for the Bucks but I think it's palpable for Miami as well because Marion just became an upgrade over Haslem and they need a pg like Mo badly. Even though they won't make the playoffs this year, they need to parlay those expiring contracts into some real basketball assets and the only way to do that is to make a trade like the one I'm proposing and be willing to take some junk contracts in the process.
