Remember, we are talking a span of 20 years. Please go back and look at the record since Herb bought the team. Not good. It's not like this is some new thing that has popped up that we need to fix, it's been going on for too long and is obviously getting worse.

It's a bizzness, folks. Concert your energies on making enough money to buy the team, then run it like you please. I got five on it.
Until then, the best way to show your discontent is by not buying the product(s) because no one is forcing us to.
Maybe that would jeopardize the future of the Bucks in Milwaukee, but it's clear that 1: There is no bright future and 2: No matter what, the future may not be in Milwaukee.
It's unfortunate that our favorite team is essentially vaporware, but that's what it is. So what can we do?

It's not that hard.

I think you guys are doing a wonderful job with this. I'll sign it! It has been quite a while since this many have formed any kind of consensus around here. It truly is good to see.
This hits Kohl exactly where he he is most vulnerable; the court of public opinion.

I think MikeIsGood did a good job, though I agree it seemed a little soft or bend-over-backward moderate.
I was pleased with th87's through much of it - but thought the ending didn't really capture what we want to happen.
"As such, we the undersigned have concluded that the ownership/organizational structure must be altered."
This sounds to me rather vague and corporate - with a little hint of a demand to get rid of Herb.
For some time now, basketball decisions have been made by people who are not recognized savvy professionals in the NBA. By an amateur owner, his circle of amateur confidants, and by a new-to-the-job GM and a succession of inexperienced coaches.
Don't we basically want Herb to hire genuine NBA pros and let them do their job?

I think calling out more people by name in the petition will get to the point more. Use specific examples also when calling out these people. Like how Kohl doesn't like the Yi pick, the nixing of trades that would better the franchise (ummm... Boozer), the skimping out on picking an experienced coach, or even backseat GMing. If these a-holes know that the fans really do know what is going on behind the scenes, maybe reality will hit them just a little tiny bit.

I think this is the gist of it. For 20 years the Bucks have been the epitome of mediocrity in the NBA. While coaches, GMs, and players have come and gone, the true power behind the scenes, and the culture of the organization have remained constant.
There is significant evidence of meddling behind the scenes of Kohl and his confidants, of people not being able to do the jobs they were supposedly hired for, and of an unhealthy culture of mixed messages and distrust. Until changes are made from the top down structure of the team, and the culture is changed, we feel that mediocrity will continue to be the standard.
We can no longer support the team until Kohl brings in real basketball people with experience in successful organizations, and lets them do their jobs without any meddling by him or his associates.
I wrote that pretty quickly, but that's the gist of what I would say. Also, if Fam puts this on BrewHoop, TrueHoop would probably pick it up, and having the thing on ESPN.com might begin to create the type of pressure needed.
That's my two cents.

Long time reader, first time poster....
How do you get a new owner but ensure the team stays in Milwaukee?
Just throwing this out there:
http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1709116,00.html?xid=feed-cnn-world
Fans organize online to chip in and buy their team. 1 share in the team is $10,000. I assume there's a democratic function to the ownership, i.e. voting on major decisions, board of directors style.
Don't mean to get off topic, but this is taking the online petition to a whole new level.

I agree. Ron Walter needs to be specifically mentioned in this thing.

Wow, so you're soooo outraged, you're willing to sign an online petition???
What a revolution....

It's Kohl's team. He can do whatever he wants with it. Perhaps you're not happy with the results over the last 20 years, but I, as a fan, am excited about the development of Bogut and Yi and the coming lotto pick.
If you want to sign your silly online petition, then go ahead. Doesn't change anything.
At least Herb has kept the team here and has dedicated himself to keeping the team here. For now, that's good enough for me, since we have Bogut and Yi coming up.

I never said Kohl can't do as he pleases.... I also know that signing a petition may have little to no effect. I am just tired of having a really bad basketball team in Milwaukee. If signing a petition makes me happy then who cares. I sure as hell ain't bashing you for all of the "excitment " the Bogut and Yi brought this year. Or the excitment of losing so many games (again) that we get another lottery pick. To each their own.
And I will commend Herb for keeping the team here. That's one thing I will never hold agaisnt him. Giving the fans a terrible product (year after year after year), however, gets to me. Remember, a lot of people here are paying customers (myself included). When you pay for a product that doesn't work or has defective parts, you take it back to the store and complain. Same thing here.

I love the idea of a petition to begin with, however, I am cautiously excited for the discussed idea about going to the game with as many fans as we can muster and wearing paper bags on our heads to try to send a message to the ownership of this team that there are people in this area who do CARE ABOUT THE BUCKS, however we are tired of seeing this product.
It must be nice to live in a city with a team that has chemistry. Even back in the Big Three days, it was oft repeated that a lot of people on that team didn't like each other. A city like Milwaukee deserves better than these malcontents and 'not-team-players.' How awesome would it be to see a Bucks team that actually liked each other...
I know a bunch of people who would be excited to head down to the BC and protest this team...
