Does Sac Town need a point now?

Post#1 » by htr » Sun Feb 17, 2008 12:40 am

I guess they got Lue and Johnson, but i have to assume both were simply brought in either because they are expiring or that they were needed to make the numbers work. Sac must be looking for a young point for the future. Would they be interested in Mo Money?

They're doing this to rebuild. No.

Beno Udrih did a very admirable job while Bibby was gone, so they don't need one.

The Kings did waive Justin Williams and I would love the see the Bucks take a chance on him. He is a long, athletic shot blocker who has been alright when given the chance. I would rather him be playing than Storey

GAD can correct me on this but I don't think the Bucks have an open roster spot. Storey has a guaranteed contract, we can't just waive him.

I'd be very surprised if they viewed Udrih as a long-term solution at PG. He played well against the Bucks but look at his numbers...he's a nice backup at best. That doesn't mean they'd really want Mo, but I wouldn't base my opinion of Udrih solely on what he did against the Bucks.

I think we can waive Storey we just have to pay him no matter what. I could be wrong though.

On Jan 10 all contracts became guaranteed for the season.

Regardless if his original contract was 100% guaranteed for 2007-08, it became guaranteed when he wasnt cut by Jan 10.

Since he is on a minimum contract, you cant negotiate the buyout. You must pay him for the rest of the season if he is cut

Ok so that wouldn't necessarily preclude the Bucks from waiving him for Justin Williams. The Bucks would just have to pay Storey no matter what, and then Williams on top of it. I know Herb probably won't want to spend the money to make it happen Williams is the type of player I would love to see the Bucks take a chance on. If not I see Dallas jumping on him after the Kidd trade.

and John Salmons plays the point as well for them.

they are in full rebuild mode around Martin so I really doubt they take on money.

Williams also is on a minimum contract & would only have to be paid on a pro-rata basis (30 games?) for rest of year. You're talking less than $400,000
here. Would Herb object to that?

Your guess is as good as mine Bulls, but I doubt we even pursue Williams. We will keep running the likes of Micheal Ruffin and Voskuhl out there instead of taking a chance on a young guy cuz our owner still believes we are competing for a playoff spot.
