Sigh...I try to be positive about it...but I know what it is

Post#1 » by DanoMac » Mon Mar 10, 2008 6:50 pm

Ok, warning, this is a rant...

What a joke this team is. I mean really. When I complain about this team, I don't even know where to start.

Now don't get me wrong here. I'm a huge, huge Bucks fan. All my friends are bandwagon fans who when they do good, they follow them, and when they suck, they only talk about who we get in the lottery (without watching their games). Whenever they talk **** about the Bucks, I stand up for the Bucks and reply with something positive about the topic they have enlightened upon. I stick up for the team when I can, but when they bring up the obvious, then obviously, I'm going to agree.

But, this is just depressing now. We have the **** Jackson 5 on the court (Bogut being Michael) not knowing what the hell they're doing. We have a coach who's being pushed around by Senator Ancient, and we have a General Manager that's touched his hair gel more than a phone trying to work out trades, also being held back by Gollum.

We have a "star" player that's being paid the max contract, and can't do anything more than score, and he does that "effeciently" every 3 or 4 games. We have a small forward that should be overseas being paid $57 million. We have a center that sometimes shows us a glimpses of hope, but the next just shows he shares the same skin color as myself. We have a power forward who wants to be the star apparently. We have another power forward that's either 2 or 56 years old, and has hit the rookie wall harder than Bogut hits himself while watching Jenna Jameson. We have a point guard, whom I like, but doesn't apparently know the job description of "POINT GUARD".

I mean really, this team is in shambles. I try to be positive about things, and mention that they're young, but I've finally come to the realization that we're a long, LONG way from anything close to winning. Quite frankly, it's embarassing. At LEAST they have cool uniforms, right?

I'd almost rather just start from scratch than "watch this team grow" for a couple of years. First and foremost, get some bad contracts out of here. Trade Bobby Simmons for a couple Gatorades. Trade Dan Gadzuric for a Fundamental Basketball Skills video, then give THAT back to Gadzuric. Trade Redd for an up and coming SG, preferibly one that's not all about scoring. Trade Villanueva for a shooter off the bench. Hell, trade Yi if you can. I don't want a 23 year old rookie sitting on the bench saying NBA is good preparation for the olympics. What the hell kind of attitude is that?

Keep Bogut. Keep Mo. Keep Mason. Keep Bell. Keep Sessions. Start from there. This team is embarassingly in the hole right now, and it doesn't look like they're digging themselves out anytime soon.

Sorry for ranting.

At this point I don't know what else to do but rant....

You are correct in so many of your points. This team is in a pathetic situation right now. There are no positives I can find in this team as currently constructed. The GM can't do his job and we are letting him go from someone who will help us less. The coach is terrible. The chemistry that is on the team all seems to be negative. We have no tradable assets, except CV, who isn't even that great to begin with so it's not like he is going to get anything great in return. Our owner is an idiot. Every game a different player quits on the team.

Blow it the f up, hire an experianced GM and coach and get smart players who are proven winners (like Portland). Anything else and this team will continue to rot and eventually leave our city.

Yep. This team is terrible and it is starting to get to the point where people are going to stop being mad and just become apathetic to the whole situation. Once there is no emotion, this team is going to be in a world of hurting.

Kohl has no idea what he is doing. He is surrounding himself with advisors who don't have a clue either. The only time this team has been successful is when they had a legitmate coach (Nelson, Karl) and a legitimate GM (Grunfeld). The problem is Kohl can't sit buy and watch others do the work. We need to stop hiring re-treads and never was's as our head coach. Stop offering contracts to the Dunleavy's, Ford's, Porter's, Stott's, and Coach K's of the world. Bring in someone who has actually had some success, and let your GM do what he does. I like Larry Harris but he needs to go. We have a fantasy basketball team not a real one. The NBA is not played on NBA LIVE GM Mode. You actually need to sign and pay role players who pass, rebound, and play defense.

You did have tradeable assests when we turned down the Knicks deal!

You could have gotten rid of three scrubs right there without having to move Villanueva until the offseason, and they refused to do it.

That is when I said screw it. Flunk them...I don't have time for this foolishness and incompetance. I am done.

When they show they don't care to make a run even in the weak ass East then they can kiss my a--! All of them!

I spend no more money on those fools...EVER! If I go to a game again it will be to see the other team! They don't deserve good fans...

Yeah the team really could've used Zach's shot blocking, what was it again? 3bpg didn't you say?

This team is a mess and I can't see it going anywhere until there's an ownership change.

Yeah going after Z-Bo is the wrong direction. Rarely am I happy when Kohl steps in, but I was with this. I want intelligent players who have have been on winning teams. That does not describe Z-Bo.

Just remember... Bobby Light is gunna do you right!

I am formerly 2ss2ls, needed a change to something more catchy. Also, Bobby Light is apparently not a commonly used handle on the internet. I get it everywhere, without having to add numbers.

Your quote from a while back about 'entering the lane at own risk when renowned shot blocker Zach Randolph is around' is still one of the funniest things I've ever read on here :D

I think he reads RealGM, after I posted that he went on a bit of a shot blocking spree. 4 blocks in 11 games.
