I really don't understand why the Clippers would give up Brand. Brand loves LA (he is moonlighting as a movie producer). Brand and Livingston will both be back next season. They have their replacement for Maggette in Thornton. They will have a lottery pick to add to a team that went to the Western conference semi's only two years ago.

Is Livingston going to be able to come back as a point guard or as a swingman? That's the big question for them. That's what decides who they draft with that lottery pick. Otherwise, they are not in bad shape, and in no way needing of a rebuild, especially one in which they have to take on bad contracts.

There have been a number of reports which have said Brand isn't happy with the Clippers and may either opt out this summer or won't re-sign when his contract is up. It's not a question of the Clippers wanting to trade Brand, but rather the Clippers being put into a position where they may have to trade Brand. And if that becomes the case, the Bucks have the pieces to make an offer for him.

That's been the basis of all of my discussions about Brand for the past few months. The Bucks and Clippers make good trade partners in my opinion for Brand

I think what you're aluding to, is that after the achilies injury, someone in the organization went on record as saying that the injury was possibly the result of performance enhancing drugs. Brand was unhappy about that, but I'm guessing that a year of kiss up and support during rehabilition from the Clippers, has made him feel better. The contract stuff is just posturing.

I just really don't think that they will trade him. Maggette, yes. Brand, no. You're free to dream though...
