Trade Idea this Offseason

Post#1 » by DH34Phan » Wed Mar 12, 2008 2:40 am

I don't think we are going to be any good next year, so why not just turn the Bucks into pure entertainment?

If Phoenix doesn't make the playoffs, or gets knocked out in the first round, I would inquire about Shaq.

Shaq puts this team in the news, and provides us with an upgrade at defense.

Milwaukee trades:
Dan Gadzuric
Bobby Simmons
Desmond Mason
Jake Voskhul (S&T)

Phoenix trades:
Shaquille O' Neal
Alando Tucker
Brian Skinner (S&T)

The 3 main guys going from Milwaukee to Phoenix would be pretty good in Phoenix's system, mainly Gadz and Dez.

We get 2 front court bangers we desperately need, and we get a Wisconsin favorite that could provide depth at the 2/3.

Our Roster:
PG: Mo Williams/ Ramon Sessions
SG: Michael Redd/ Charlie Bell
SF: Charlie Villanueva/ Alando Tucker
PF: Andrew Bogut/ Brian Skinner
C: Shaquille O' Neal

After Shaq and Redd expire, we really aren't tied down by any bad contracts, unless Bogut or CV get outrageous deals. Meanwhile, we stay relevant in the eyes of the media, and maybe even get better.

I'm going to assume this is a joke, but lets say it's not for the sake of argument.

Phoenix is going to trade Shaq to us for straight up garbage when they gave up Marion to get him?

Wow.

Wow.

What else are they going to get for Shaq? If they get bounced early this year, they probably won't want him for another 2 years.

Instead of watching him hurt their team, they at least get something for him.

You don't think Gadz, Simmons and Voskuhl would hurt their team?

Are you kidding me? Gadz can overratingly run and Simmons can overratingly shoot. And Vohskul might marry Ha's sister and make a baby that could be the next Yao Ming and little Jake Jr along with a 50 year old Nash could win the championship!

this is the worst trade idea i've ever seen. none of the players we are getting would make us better anywhere. do you honestly think shaq would be willing to come off the bench for bogut, or vice versa? plus every player on the suns roster is better than anyone we are offering up. and if we got shaq, oh nevermind it's just a bad idea.

WTF would Pheonix that BS for Shaq!

Comeon man! Get real...no one wants our players, and especially for a guy like Shaq! WTF would he come here!?

Do something realistic. This is absurd! You not gonna dump our crap on another team.

WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ZACH RANDOLPH WHEN YOU HAD THE CHANCE!!

Yeah if we traded Redd and Simmons for Zach "the disease" Randolph than we look like this:

Williams, Ivey, Sessions
Bell, Storey
Mason, Noel
Randolph, CV, Yi, Ruffin
Bogut, Gadz, Voz

Notice our depth at PF, and the lack thereof at SG and SF. You may say we dump our crap on the knicks, but really they are dumping there crap on us.

I've seen lots of dumb trade proposals on this site over the years, but this one ranks right near the top.

1. Shaq would never agree to play here

2. Even if in pretend land that Shaq would agree to play in Milwaukee and even if he wasn't playing well/fitting in well for the Suns, what possible reason would they have to want two more years at 10 million per of Simmons broken down terrible terrible play and three more years at about 7 million per of Gadzuric's spaz like play?

Oh wait, i forgot that we would be including Mason and Voskhul, now it all makes sense for why Phoenix would be all over this trade offer.

So you want to pay $20 odd mill for one of the true greats of all time to sit on the bench and lumber up and down the floor for maybe 15 minutes per game? He wouldn't do it, and if in some parralell universe he did agree Bogut would be requesting a trade before he even arrived. And apart from all that there is just no way the Suns do it. Um..... ugh.

why? would shaq make us that much better down low? I think that playing shaq over bogut would slow bogut's progress, and he's been developing very consistently over the years. and look at who we would be giving up. a bunch of guys who have skill sets similar to most guys getting pt on the suns, but no where near as good. look at the suns' roster, maybe des would get to see the floor consistently, but all the guys that we are giving up are riding the bench on a nightly basis AND THEY ARE ON A TEAM THAT CAN'T WIN IN THE EAST! so why would either team make the trade?
