OT--Any help with spyware?

So i've run Adware, Spybot, and Spyware Doctor numerous times and it seems that MAYBE i've rid a good chunk of the spyware. Here is what i'm still confused about.

I only have Spyware Doctor running active right now because it seems to have worked best of the three programs and when i had both Spybot/Spyware Doctor running at the same time, the computer would lock itself up as if the two programs were fighting with each other.

With Spyare Doctor running, the non-stop popups have gone away, but i also have a non-stop message from Spyare Doctor popping up every second or two that says

Malicious Action Blocked

Spyare Doctor has blocked an application firefox.exe attempting to access a file.

The odd thing is when i ran a scan on Spyare Doctor,Trojan-Dropper.Small!sd5 was one of the many other bugs it found, but this one it seems unable to delete. Any idea why? Plus i ran my AVG virus scan and it never found this Trojan-Dropper.Small!sd5, how does that happen?

The computer is actually functioning fairly decent now except for seeing that Malicious Acton Blocked which pops up about 25-30 times per minute.

It has changed a registry key in your computer, there is no such thing as Spyware that removes such problems. Needs to be removed manually from your computer's registry.

Is spyware illegal? It should be. Instead of our government worrying about if Clemens was at Cansaco's pool party or not they should be cracking down on this.

yes it is, and in most countries too. It is extremely difficult to mount a case though. Most are linked to organised crime

Do not play around with your registry without knowing exactly what you are doing. The results can be destructive if not done correctly.

Spybot is passive it does not run until you tell it to, the teatimer function is unrelated. Go to safe mode. do not run spyware doctor. turn it off. Run a spybot scan. once complete it gives you a list, delete all entries. It will then tell you to run immunize, do so. Reboot, run scan again. If it's still stuffed you're SOL, IMO once you get to the point where you're stuffing around and deleting registry entries your system is compromised beyond the point of no return. Just bite the bullet and reinstall windows, a fairly straightforward process where you put in your installation CD and follow the prompts, backup your important docs first
