I love bringing Haslem in but I also would worry we'd trade CV for peanuts and then watch him bust out on a team that has a superstar to keep him focused (ala the Lakers).

I think a CV/Haslem PF rotation works just as well currently as a Yi/Haslem rotation would.

If Yi were indeed 20 years old, I wouldn't worry so much about this.....but it is a legit concern as to what Yi becomes.

I thought we already knew that where ever CV goes he is going to tear up....do not be surprise if/when he averages 18/11 for another team next season....

we just got to hope we get enough talent back so we wont be mad about it... I know for a fact CV is going to do a GREAT where ever he goes.

The problem if you assume Yi isn't ready and you keep Villanueva is you've done nothing to improve your defense so your chances of improving overall have suffered a major setback. You've wasted another season instead of truly taking the smart steps you need to take in order to improve.

That's why I think it's a much better idea to get a good defender who can either back up Yi at PF or start if Yi's progress remains slow. That way you've improved your defense and give your team a much better chance to improve overall.

Totally agree... I would love for our new gm to swing a mo for haslem trade.

Then you still have CV and the 7th pick in the draft to accomplish the task of bringing in an athletic small forward and a pg to compete with sessions for the job.

Now we're looking at a team with vastly improved defense, and an offense that shouldn't miss a beat with more ball movement and a team focus.

On defense, I don't think there's any particular area that CV needs work on other than pure 110% effort. He has footwork and he has size. Just a lot more effort. It's not like the Mo situation IMO where he's absolutely clueless.

Yi frustrates the hell out of me, he 's 7ft and constantly getting pump faked at the 3pt line. Just get your hands up. Use your size.

And then a "trade Ramon Sessions now" thread two days after that.
