OT: Final Four is "Big" time.

Post#1 » by upnorthfan » Mon Mar 31, 2008 12:04 pm

Just as I predicted before the tournament began when I said all four number 1's would make it to the final four for the first time ever, it happened.

The tournament overall seems to be a little down, but there is parody in college basketball in so much as there are more good teams and certainly more skilled players all over the palce.

But as I was trying to explain pre-tournamnt was that although that is true, the BIGS didn't just lay dormant and let eveyone catch up, they got even stronger and better, hence for the first time ever four top seeds made it to the final four.

I think it's great. A wealth of talent will be in San Antone, and more than likely, a future Buck.

I say NC since they are in my bracket and I'll take 2nd place if they win.

I'm a little more skeptical of Kansas than the others, but there are obviously no dogs in this group.

I picked UCLA over UNC in my bracket but I'll be rooting for Memphis.

I have all four number 1's in my final four bracket, with Memphis beating UNC for the title.

So far I am ahead in all three brackets I am playing, and yes, I am using the same bracket for all of my office pools.

I picked UCLA but I don't want to see the Derrick Rose show end.

How many of these teams have as many or more 1st rounders on their roster as the Bucks?

UNC: Lawson, Hansbrough? Green? Ellington?
UCLA: Love, Collison, Westbrook
Kansas: Rush, Arthur
Memphis: Rose, CDR, Dorsey?

I guess none of them have four obvious 1st rounders right now. Still depressing.

Depends on the Final Four yet to be played, but this could be one of the best ever. I know we all love the upsets, and the buzzer beaters, but this year for the most part the big schools took care of business and made it "their" tournament.

All of these teams look strong with UCLA and Kansas I think the most vulnerable of the four. But the games overall weren't as close as in years past, leading more credence to my "the strong got stronger" belief.

I had 3 #1's and Texas in my final four. I really thought that the poor FT shooting of Memphis during the year would really hurt them in the tourney, but they have shot a good % surprisingly.

UNC is unstoppable. It is their destiny. No one gets within ten points of them.

One thing about Carolina is they probably lead the nation in "Title's not won they should have". They have been loaded before, many times, and came up empty.

Man what a final four!! Power on power, speed on speed, heart, dersire, skill, all on display in this years final four. CDR and Derek Rose in the open court was a sight to behold. Memphis is just unbelievable.

Kansas!! There was a twelve minute stretch where they got the lead up to 28 on UNC, withstood a furious rally, and ran away at the end.

In the Regionals it was Sasha Kahn, tonight it was Eldridge for the Jayhawks that was unbeliveable. Brandon Rush shut me up. Collins!!

The defense Kansas put on UNC was incredible, and the fast breaks of Memphis was jaw dropping. I bet between the two games, I saw 35 jaw dropping plays. Heck, I saw three on one play and two on one play many tmes.

Seriously a teared welled up in me because I love basketball. To see Memphis offensively with Rose and then CDR on the break AND half court sets, and defensively to see Kansas get up 28 on UNC no less, by stealing and deflecting and harrassing shooters, guys, what we saw today was as good as it gets!!!

Monday's Championship will be even better!!
