The Bucks might consider it to be in THEIR best interest to give Yi some rest, knowing that he will play for the CNT this summer.

I still have hope for Yi. He runs like a deer, looks to be a good team mate, and showed that he can shoot in the NBA. It was curious the way his shooting fell off in the second half of the year. I suspect that the reports of the sore wrist playing a role are true.

As for talent evaluation - we (mostly) are rank amateurs. The pros have a hard enough time predicting who is a sure bet or a sure bust. None of us have good long term histories of predicting which talent succeeds in the NBA.

What ever happened to it taking 3 years for a player to develop?

It's way to early to say much of anything on Yi. I think he's a good young player that is going to be a tremendous player in this league but he has some growing to do and needs to develop. In the meantime, getting this time off before he has to go and play for the Olympics is vital for him.

On a side note looks like Yi the Ladies Man is doing quite well for himself. I saw him yesterday as I was coming from a meeting at a Restaurant called Elsa's on the Park. He was with a very cute girl and an older gentleman who rode in a separate car.. he was all smiles. Looked very comfortable in his environment. I was tempted to go and say something to him but I didn't want to disturb what looked like a very relaxing evening..

It's true that we don't know what we're talking about, but I don't know that the pros have high percentage track records either. When we're talking about young players who aren't already good, there's a high amount of luck involved.
